Just a hunch, not a rumour or anything - does anyone else think Wilder might get rid of Duffy this summer?

With us already having Carruthers (I don't believe these rumours about him wanting out), offering O'Shea a contract and apparently being after Ricky Holmes again that's 4 players competing for 1 position. 2 of which are approaching 30 and Duffy who is 31 soon to be 32.

I don't think he's got the legs to play on the wing anymore, and when he did for Birmingham 4 years ago in this division he did the square root of fuck all and was sold before long. Holmes, Carruthers and possibly O'Shea could all operate on the wing.

And let's be honest he flatters to deceive a lot of the time, makes the wrong decision, hangs on to the ball for about 10 seconds too long, it's just something you can't afford to do in the Championship.

He's been a fantastic signing for us and without him we probably wouldn't have gone up, he's played a big part and we should always be thankful for that. He'll never have to buy a pint in Sheffield again but is his time up? Switching up levels at his age, legs going, fitness going (tends to blow after an hour), it's going to be difficult for him.

Will he be the surprise sale this summer? It wouldn't surprise me - put it that way.

No I don't. Not for one minute. He's a key player for us. Has created so many chances for others.

Duffy is one of our best players, supremely skilled and very clever. What he lacks physically he makes up for it upstairs. He took a while to really get going and faded a little over the last 10 games but for the bulk of the season he was key to our success.

Give him a chance in the Championship and see how he goes. He will cause some problems but probably in smaller doses than he has this season.

Careful - that lady on floor Q LOVES Monty to bits :)

Good progress btw - hope things are good at your end.

Delighted to hear it. Best wishes to the Bladey Lady. Just for her and never to be repeated: I ❤ Monty, too.

Nearly six months and counting for me. Every time we get close to a transfer out (to who knows where, by the way, but it won't be home) we get another infection or fall or suspected TIA.

He's aware of the Blades success this season though he's been too confused to follow individual games, even though a radio or indeed a TV is readily available. Prior to the stroke he was glued to one or the other (or both!) on match days. Now he's no idea whether it's even a match day or any particular day or time at all. He hasn't watched or listened to any broadcasts or even asked to do so, whereas previously football, darts, cricket, fishing and bowls were constant viewing on Sky Sports.

It brings home what a devastating and irrevocable effect a stroke can have. He'll never be the same again, though every now and then there's a trace of his old mischievous self, sadly short-lived.

Thanks for asking. I do appreciate it.

❤⚔.

Don't get yourself stressed over it. It's only a sentence.

Only a sentence? There was a thread last week when I got pretty upset about just three letters (E F & L).

If three letters can get the blood pressure up, then a whole word can have me foaming. I don't even want to think about what a full sentence can do.

Who are those men outside? The ones in white coats carrying straps......
