Mirror on Sundays say we are trying to sign him on a permanent deal. What do you think?
which brings me to, are there any of last seasons loan signings you'd like to see us sign up?

The one advantage of Seip is he will know the team, style of play and won't need to settle in. Whether he is good enough is another question?

Thought he was pretty solid, wouldn't be too bad a signing.

I'd also buy Connolly from Derby who I thought impressed pretty well.

When Seip first came on loan I thought he looked a class act. I onll saw a few games live, but he slotted right in at the side of Morgs. He seemed like a decent (short term) replacement for Kilgallon. However he then got injured and struggled to get back into the sides. I pretty much stopped watchinbg United after that fateful day against Watford and hence can't pass a judgement on Seip after February sort of time.

I think Seip is a decent defender. He looks fairly composed and his positional sense is pretty good. He's not very quick (which may be an isuue with him playing with Morgs) but with the quality of the division I don;t think he'd get exposed much. However, the main questions have to be around his fitness. He missed the lions share of the seconfd half of the season with injuries and I seem to remember a Plymouth fan saying he was decent, but a crock. If he can stay fit then he can do a job, as either a partner for Morgs or decent back up.

We need a couple of CBs at least so why not, seemed solid enough. I'd like to see us go back for Kyle III personally, his pace would certainly be an asset alongside Morgs.

I'm not sure how important many United fans realise this is. We have KB for another season and hence we have negative dull football. However, that could be (semi) successful dull, negative hoofball if we get the back 4 right. The reason why Blackwell's team was successful in 2008/2009 was because of the rock solid back 4. Having Naughton, Killa, Miors and Naysmith meant we had the best defense in the league and concede few goals. It also meant that Blackwell's awful syle of play worked. We nicked games away from home and generally won a lot of games we didn't deserve to win. Why? Becuase of the defence and the fact that we conceded less goals than any other team.

I'm afraid I have little confidence in KB's procurement abilities and hence this might all go out of the window. However with a solid back 4 (we need at least 3 or 4 additions) then we could finish closer to the top of the league than the bottom.

Inter Milan have just won the Champions League with not much more than a very solid defence.

Think that's a bit harsh on fantastic players such as Milito and Sjneider, but I see where you are coming from. Joe Mourihno is also a superb tactician and man manager, wheareas I can't say the same for King Kev. Italy won the world cup with negative defensive tactics. However they still had the class to win the games (as did Inter).

We're halfway there!? Monty is a bit like Cambiasso, Morgs is Lucio-like, Naysmith a Zennetti and ermmm ..... Williamson our Sjnieder (scraping the barrel ;) )

If we could get back the loan CBs and they stay fit so we have a consistent back four, I think we will get the solid defence we need. The forwards we've got are good enough to nick a few goals. As long as we haven't got a leaky defense the system works. Most of the players mentioned are more than good enough at this level.

From what I saw of him he seemed pretty average. As cover he could be a decent signing but I would hope for someone better as a regular.

His injury prone record should be enough to excite Blackwell and the board into signing him. They might have to expand the treatment room as that other rock Williamson has his name engraved over bed number one, its reserved for him until november and for every five matches after that.

Williamson wasn't particularly injury prone before he joined us. Also, before you say, he wasn't injured when he signed for us.

i think that last season due to our unsetled defence we let a lot more goals in and generally the first goal of the game. The players and the fans alike never really had any confidence that we would win once we went behind, unkike under NW , when even if we were 5 down with 10 to go I would have some optimism. KB's tactics are also based on don't let the other team score and see if we can nick one down the other end from a hoof, this was plan A. Plan B we never found out.

Get a settled back four and half of our problems are over under KB

Plan B came into effect if we went 1 down, Copenhagen - hoof it and see if we can nick a draw.

Plan C came into effect if we went 2 or 3 down - hoof it and see if we can nick a consolation!!

;)
