Manager Suggestion after Wilder Walks

It’s nailed on with the total lack of understanding of our wants and want nots .... we’d like to announce our new manager ... he’s done a fantastic job at Wycombe 🤬🤬
 
Michael Appleton has been made favourite at Sky Bet (I know they mean nothing at this stage) but out of all the names I've seen so far I'd want him most

Good shout but McBurnie didn't play under cooper at Swansea.

Brewster also played under cooper with England U17, he probably knows how to get the best out of him.

Well he was definitely spent most of pre season under him. He’d have had an idea how to utilise him

Yeah he may have spent about 6 weeks with him but Cooper can't really take credit for McBurnie scoring 22 goals the season before we signed him.
 
If this had happened a month ago I bet we’d have got Paul Cook he’s one of Wilders big mates but he’s also a man manager but that’s all conjecture so to add some more I’m going to
say that we’ll have a caretaker until the end of the season and then the dust will have settled to announce a manager that doesn’t have to fit into CW’s shoes and that’s my call on it lol
 
I'm sure it's part of the sounding-out checks with a number of potential candidates and doesn't mean much/anything but apparently the Cowley brothers have been contacted by the club.

They certainly wouldn't be my choice as I've heard a few interesting stories about them, particularly Danny, but I guess it shows the type of manager the Board are targeting. It would give news about similar approaches to Appleton and McInnes more credence
 
I think it will be DoF and foreign coaches this will fit in nicely with Prince's portfolio... he's not a Unitedite and never will be!!
 

After a bit of research last monday i suggested Adrie Koster. His name has cropped up a few times since. Digging around the internet a bit more a couple of names that might be familiar to van winckel and prince....
*George Donis, ex blade, ex Al Hilal manager . Seems to have floated around greece and middle east.
*Bert van Marwijk, ex holland coach. looks like he was saudi manager while prince was minister for sport and van winckle has spoke highly of him in interviews.
 
The dingles never seem to hang onto a manager for a full season but the last few they have recruited seem to be better than the one before, maybe we should ask them to recommend some unknown manager from Europe for us.
 
danny cowley. almost in a similar vein to wilder. did outstanding things at his 1st 3 clubs concord rangers from 9th tier to national league south.

nearly brought part time braintree into the football league.

then Lincoln mid table in the conference. to very nearly into championship. along the way 1st non league in a century to make fa cup quarter finals & won the old JPT

I would have put money on that happening if McCabe had still been in charge - a name yes, but one already proven to be clueless and far too wrapped-up in himself than any team he'll manage.

Very similar to the appointment made the last time Utd dropped out of the top flight.
 
Someone who maybe under the radar slightly, and going along the lines of not having much money to spend on an appointment, Mark Robins anyone? Done a good job of rebuilding Coventry on extremely limited resources
 
If we need someone with managerial experience, a knowledge of how the club works and having managed abroad you can look no further than Mr Deane !!

As great a player as BD was (probably my favourite ever in a Utd shirt), his management experience is extremely limited and delivered even more limited success. No UK experience of note, it would surely be an appointment based solely on Bladey Bladeness - I doubt he'd even make the long list at any other Champ (or even L1 or L2) club's recruitment.

For me the next manager needs to be highly experienced and able to stabilise the team, squad and club quickly. I don't think it's the time to roll the dice on an 'up & coming' manager, especially one that's not even coming from Champ or below.
 
brian deane did a great job at sarpsborg but problem was that was 2014 & having 6 years out the game is quite big. even if he was interested i dont think he is ready to get back in

Sorry ! It was meant to highlight the nature of the more ridiculous suggestions on here.
We have no idea of what the Board are looking for and I doubt we will hear anything before late April
