No chance Nuno comes can't see Dyche either
Another experienced possible option Tony Mowbray.
If we are basing the next manager on % win rates as a manager then welcome to the Blades Robbie Savage 82% win rate in his 60 odd games as a manager 😂

I don't trust the owners to appoint a good manager. Was Selles CV any better than Bryan Robson's?

Just noticed Middlesboro goal keeping coach has left the club. He was appointed when Wilder was there and has obviously worked with Carrick. Makes you think don’t it.

For everyone that wanted Wilder out...... welcome to reality.
Don’t think it was so much I wanted Wilder out it’s more I wanted the club to modernise with a young progressive manager in.

We’ve ended up with inept, absent and nieve owners that picked the wrong man.

No quick fix now, decent talent won’t come near us so forget Dyche, Nino et al it’s Chanillor type punts or desperate like Carrick or Gerrard but probably O’Neil.

I wouldn’t rule out COH asking Wilder on a short term deal

They ought to be on his doorstep begging!

As others have said, I doubt CW would come back at this point if asked. We're looking at a season-long rebuild just to finish mid-table. A lot of fans would be on his back as soon as we lose a couple, and we will lose a lot more whoever is manager.

I didn't want to get rid of Wilder.

But for me you do that after promotion. Not saying remove wilder but start the modernisation of the clubs strategy. And if Wilder isn't delivering after promotion then change. Or you do it first season back down.

For me the owners should have given Wilder the start of this campaign at the least.

They've gambled and given this job to someone who doesn't cut it.

Stick with Selles and we will deffo be in a relegation fight. In fact we would just go down. No signs of real improvement yet.

My early impression of Savage as a manager. Good start, clearly knows his stuff. Left Macclesfield and already talk he’ll outgrow Forest Green very soon. I’d question that type of loyalty if I’m honest.

I’d love Nuno but it won’t happen. He’ll either get a prem job or be off to Europe or Saudi.

Mowbray, hmmmm. He’d steady the ship I reckon

The captain of the Titanic could steady the ship better than what we have now.

What about Big Sam? No one has mentioned him.

Uncle Sam, meet Big Sam, and a brown McDonalds bag in a service station near Redditch - what could be more American than that??

YHIHF 😉😉😉😉

Top message. Agree with all that. To get the points we did and not go up was gutting. But watching that final game at Wembley under Wilder made me feel it was his time due to the player panicking and reverting back to the roots of their play all season of sit back at 1-0. You just dont sit back in a final, unfortunately I dont think Wilder went their to do that, but the players naturally play their normal game.

Looking at possible managers
If we rule out Nuno because of wages and he’ll more than likely take a break before someone like Brentford will come knocking, Cooper ,who we should have got when Wilder was sacked, now he's gone abroad, realistically we are looking at
Hessenhuttl - available, maybe wages again
Carrick - available, fits the modern idea
O'Neil - available, cheaper option maybe
Rohl- maybe another hopeful gamble
Dyche - available, gritty type might suit us
Mousinho - good coach, but another hopeful punt maybe
Wilder - maybe should have had till Xmas, but a backwards appointment if returning

No way. I’d take aWilder before him. Clubs going backwards if that’s best we can do
I’ve repeatedly given my opinion about Wilder coming back so I’m not saying anything further, things are divisive enough as it is.

I’d say the club is already going backwards. Nothing from COH and Bettis is channeling his inner Harpo Marx.

It’s a fucking shitshow

The options aren’t really inspiring to me

Not really interested in Hassenhuttl. Taught Selles everything he knows, and basically every interview I’ve seen recently is ex players calling in out for being a bell end.

Carrick - a good time manager but not really achieved anything at boro with a great squad who are now unbeaten, and weren’t sorry he’d left.

Didn’t want o’Neil in the summer. But I’d be open to it now. Though Not sure it’s a good sign the wolves and Bournemouth both improved after sacking him.

Rohl - did well at Wednesday but seems like a Snek. And there is added controversy

Dyche - not sure he’d want the job. And obviously he’s not going to play beautiful attacking football. But he is a good manager and would at least get the players performing to the sum of thier parts. Let’s be honest the season is a survival job now given the state Selles has put us in.

Moushino - don’t know much about him but he’s done a decent job at pompy.

Wilder - it’s obvious we never should have let him go. Not sure he’d be up for coming back.

Sad Cooper is out of the mix but not sure he’d have wanted the job. He was the right man. Had success and plays decent football.

Never say never but it should really be worse than the Selles clown show. Just need that fraud out of the club now.

What if he’s still here for Charlton ?- just asking

Oh I have something of a red hair fetish.

I’d rather she chose not to talk though. Takes a long time for me to build up a head of steam these days and I don’t want to be derailed by that manc Elmer Fudd thing she’s got going on…
She would profess to be “strawberry blonde “ . I’m sorry but I wouldn’t poke her with yours. 😉

Savage would be a really interesting left field choice.

He’s played at the highest level. He’s a motivating, enthusiastic character. He knows the facets of running a club given his nuts and bolts work at Macc.

It’s not a terrible suggestion to be honest.

I just don’t get the fuss about Angela Raynor at all - a bit horsey for me.

Either Carrick or Ole

Rohl wouldn't take it (unfortunately imo)

Nuno and Dyche wouldn't take it

did sky know something last night by constantly showing solskjaer in the crowd ? could he be our new d.o.f. with carrick as manager 🤔

Cooper would have been perfect, so sad we didn't get him while we maybe could.

Out of the realistic options, I'd go...

Rohl > Dyche > O'Neil

Wouldn’t have thought this would be the case, (as instinctively I wouldn’t have wanted him, and it sounds like most others don’t either), but Stevie G has a better win percentage at 55.3% than any of the other managers linked in this thread.

Anyone who has managed Rangers will always have a high percentage win rate!
