Chuffing hell can here the melt down from those 300,000 city fans in S6 on ferking mars.

It was at the posh Italian on the Water Lane in Wilmslow just outside of Manchester. I think it’s Sarafina Bistro but my night vision goggles weren’t working that well. Anyhow, after the party of 4 left (Pep, Mcatee, Mcatee’s mum and dad) I went inside and studied their table before the waiter had chance to clear it. On the table I found half a Cuban cigar (Pep’s allowed to smoke indoors anywhere within a 50mile radius of the Ethiad stadium), a crumpled up receipt for £354.50 including 12.5% tip but there was £40 cash as abit extra on top, and the crusts of a 12inch pizza.

I studied the receipt;

Pep had spaghetti bolognese (no mushrooms) and a garlic bread starter.

Mcatee JNR had 12 inch pineapple pizza with a set of colouring crayons and colouring book.

His mum and dad went all out and both had lobster Thermidor which makes me feel like Pep agreed to pay the bill in advance.

What suprised me most though was the brand new just opened bottle of Henderson’s sitting next to the carcas of one of the lobsters. It seems there’s a connection between the parents and our beautiful city which may have been a factor.

On the way out I passed what can only be described as Vincent Kompany in a clown suit sitting on the table next to the front window. I can only fathom he was there to spy on behalf of Burnley but took everything a little too far as he had a swarm of kids nibbling at his ankles asking him to blow up a balloon.

That ITK enough for ya???
Good lad. I'VE FOUND RICHARD CADETTE EVERYONE!!

This is an opinion of the loan from a Man City fan site.

When asked to describe how McAtee plays. He described him as.......

very similar to Spanish magician David Silva, with a touch of Georgi Kinkladze and German international midfielder Gundogan.

That'll do me ha ha.

Note: He also calls us a "massive club", doesn't he know the S6 lot think they have a copyright on that description. They'll not be happy.

Cricketers is 38 miles from the Etihad.

Makes you think doesnt it

Surprised City fans were critical of the move to be honest. I do recall several of the Wolves fans were disapproving of MGW coming to us because we were near the bottom when he signed and that didn't work out too badly for all parties. I think City fans will be pleased to see him doing so well rather than playing in youth football.

Pleased with how high they rate him though!

I'm a Man City fan who lurks on here and also posts on the board that Roy has probably visited to gather the quotes highlighted in the OP. I haven't looked at those posts but I can probably give a bit of background here.

City signed Erling Haaland this summer, who was effectively a replacement for Sergio Aguero after the Argentinian left a year ago. But we also let Jesus and Sterling leave. The journalists who had reliable connections with the club suggested that this was because Cole Palmer was ready to step up as a squad member while McAtee would also be given a decent number of minutes wide up front in Pep's 4-3-3.

So the fact that James has suddenly been loaned out strikes us as a bit odd given that we were previously being told there was no plan to buy another forward player. It seems to leave our squad a little light. I think that accounts for fans on our side being dubious about the loan, but I don't see that as any reason for Blades fans to be worried.

Our message boards do these days have plenty of new fans who've made their way to us from Twitter. I wish they'd fucking stay there, but that's another matter. A lot of these seem to reckon McAtee should have been loaned to a PL club, but then these aren't people whose views are exactly anchored in realism.

A top Championship club such as the Blades is actually a great fit for the lad as he's more likely to get the game time he needs. He'll be playing in front of big crowds with high expectations on him, and that will hopefully make a man of him in football terms.

He's certainly very highly rated at our club. We make a fortune from selling on young prospects these days, but these are largely players we don't think are quite good enough to make it with us. This kid is apparently rated by the hierarchy, including Pep, as having a real shot at a career with our club.

Not that I'm any kind of authority, but FWIW, I do subscribe to the City+ service via our website. This allows me to watch what until this coming season was our under-23 side in the PL2. I can assure you that he's already far too good for that level.

Anyway, there are no guarantees with these things but let's hope for a mutually satisfactory outcome in which he improves his game while helping you to promotion before returning to us in 2023 ready to play a fuller part in our squad than he would have done this time round. In the meantime, good luck for your season.

Thanks for the reply Petrusha. A well worded reply akin to what I'd expect from a City fan. It does sounds exciting how highly City fans rate the lad, really looking forward to watching both Doyle and McAtee. I suspect if we do get promoted and Doyle does well that we may be able to sign him germanely. no chance with McAtee of course.

I think a loan to the Championship would have been the best he would have got in terms of playing time.

Signing for a lower PL club, he may not have got assurances on game time.

Let's just hope he isn't injured in the first week!
Knowing us that is possible

Thanks for your input lets hope this loan turns out like the Henderson loan and the MGW one ,every one involved benefited player ,blades and their parent club. Henderson got a England call up and MGW value nearly tripled and I like to think we had a lot to do with both these players careers up turn and I think they would both agree with that. Good luck.

The fact that a friend of ours who is a Leeds supporter easily managed to get tickets in the home end for Man City v Leeds (Leeds sold out) for him and his son AND there were empty seats all over the place spoke volumes last season.

Thanks Roy.

Thanks Roy.

Will we end up sounding like self entitled twats like them when we get rich owners?

Their going to be even more pissed off next week when we send him back with damaged cruciate ligaments

Utterly clueless bunch of fans. Takes a LOT more than a set of silky skills to be a world-class player.
Top-level competitive games are played at high speed and intensity. The U23 league is nothing like it. Reckon he is going to struggle in our first team at first, and he not be able to adjust to it at all. Man City are paying us to take the the risk and nursemaid him through those first games so they don't have to.

The utter, utter bastard. Send him back now.

Obviously as an old-school City fan who remembers both of Doyle's grandfather's with affection, I'd love to see him make it at our club. But while he's good enough to have a successful career at a high level, I agree with you that City see him as a player to sell on at a profit. I think he'd be available to the Blades next summer on a permanent deal if he has a good campaign and you go up.

As you suggest, I believe that City want McAtee back next summer, better equipped for first-team minutes in our set-up. I don't see him being sold before he's given that chance.

Yes, when it goes well, there's a mutual benefit. Hope it works out with McAtee as well.

Since when, has an average crowd of over 50,000 been something to mock? City's attendances in the 2nd and 3rd division are incredible. Made more so, by the fact that your neighbours, are Manchester United. They are easily in the top 5 of the loyalist fans, in terms of numbers, in the country.

I bet not one of those 'fans' have heard of Shaun Goater.

Hi there - another City fan here. I lived in Sheffield for 3 years and I love the place, the people and as I used to live just off London Road I've got a soft spot for The Blades so I'm really excited to see how both Doyle and McAtee get on for you.

I've watched a lot of both players at under 18 and under 23 level. Doyle is almost like an old fashioned box to box player with great delivery, a bit like James Ward-Prowse. With his City heritage I hope to see him back one day but even if that doesn't happen he'll definitely have a career in the top division.

McAtee is great to watch, he's way too good for the level he's been playing at for the past 2 seasons. I watched a lot of Foden, Sancho and Brahim Diaz at the same age and he's at their level at youth football, just hope he can make the step up playing for against men.

Anyway, I'll be checking in to see how they both get on. Best of luck against Millwall today and hopefully we'll be playing each other again next season! Also, don't take comments from the bluemoon forum as how all City fans think, yes we do have a lot of bellends that support us but we're not all bad!

Good read some silly manc comments …be a miracle .if he get McDonkey scoring said one …problem is McDonkey is a donkey
