Taking over a sinking ship with a chance, slim as it may be, of pulling off a miracle. Someone out there has a big enough ego and thinks he can do it. Who? no idea. But one thing for sure if there is a replacement, it'll be on the cheap
I'm pretty sure you weren't heading this way... But all I could think off when reading this description was Warnock.

When looking at potential managers

1: is he a blade
2: has he managed us before
3: see 1 & 2

That's it
The problem is we can’t trust the prince to appoint the right man so tried and tested seems the safer option. That’s imo anyway

My point is we never give anyone else a chance because fans just jump on people's backs , unless a blade or ex player , jokanovic inherited a team devoid of confidence that had lost 29 of 38 games , but hecky gets the credit for ndiaye , but slav gave him his debut , slav signed Gibbs white as well, 2 of the top performers in the championship, if we had kept Slav and backed him and given him 2 seasons to get us up I believe he would have and we wouldn't be bottom and getting absolutely slaughtered week in week out

I don’t want wilder back.

In that second season things were terrible. Granted we weren’t getting smashed every week but some things were unforgivable.

Playing that cunt every week after he’d down tools and pretending all was fine for example.

Trying multiple times to get paid off before slipping out the back door.

We need to show some imagination and pick a coach with a modern play style and match the recruitment to the style. Build something for the future like Brentford and Brighton.
Carrick

I think the issue is less that fans are only picking from Warnock or Wilder.

More so that we are that much of a mess it would seem that thinking back to how both of these have and can manage us might instill the passion and fight required to make us respectable.

And we'd rather have either over a Dean Smith!

The fact you mention Slav answers the question right now. I get where you’re coming from & id love Hassenhuti (apologies for the spelling) or someone with some sort of charisma but unfortunately the prince isn’t the right man to appoint

We will never know if that would be the case but my opinion is that your Slav prediction is utter nonesense. If we had seen some progression during his tenure then I would be more inclined to agree but it was ponderous, laborious, indecisive ‘possession’ play, without any real cutting edge or purpose that allowed pretty average / poor championship sides to turn us over fairly easily.

Utter Dog shit. I have posted before about him losing his bottle after the Forest play off semi. I said it all through last season and got slagged for it as we won the majority.
This season is (only my opinion) what happens when you don’t have a style of play, you recruit players who aren’t going to be fit for the start of the season, and fail to bring in any premier league experience.

We played football to feet under Robson but we didn't have the players to execute it because they were coached not to under previous managers

We brought in several players, both on loan and also permanently to enable Robson to execute his style of football.

Players such as David Carney, James Beattie, Lee Hendrie, and a few others In fact we signed a good 8 or 9 players under Bryan Robson and the end product was some of the worst football I’ve had the utter misfortune to clap eyes on. We also had ball players in the side such as Michael Tonge and the ball playing centre half Matt Kilgallon.

The end result was being unable to have the capability to beat a piss poor Scunthorpe side managed by a certain Mr N Adkins, coming on the back of an awful performance at Hillsborough that even stank the sty out, a game Robson had disregarded as just another a league game.

Yeah he was given 6 months which is long enough for any manager to get results , and slav probably 3 months to change a losing mentality , well heckingbottom has had 4 months in the premier League and managed to completely to change the mentality of the players and fans, and make us arguably the worst side the league has ever seen or to use your words stink the division out so what do we do now ?

I’m not disagreeing about Hecky. I just don’t think comparing him to Slav and Robson is the correct comparison to make.

My point is we never give managers a chance , if it's not up and at em football all throw ins and corners and slide tackles it's shit , if we had guardiola in charge our fans would moan it's tippy tappy sideways crap , and want Warnock back

Robson and Slav both got out of their misery before they could go on and and cause even more damage. Sacking both of them at the time was the right thing to do at that particular point as it was clearly obvious what they was trying to do wasn’t working and they wasn’t going to change. After both sackings we saw a dramatic upturn in form. The only sacking I couldn’t agree with was Wilson, and in my opinion the only time a sacking should take place if when it’s clear it’s not going to work out and there is already someone in mind who can come in and make a positive change. Just out of interest do you also think David Weir didn’t get enough time either as he was attempting to implement a new style of play too? Adrian Heath is another

I don’t think it is all about the fan base being accustomed to up and at em football. We played some outstanding football under Wilder. What the fans want is to see the side playing with intensity and purpose and that isn’t just exclusive to hit and rush percentage football.

I see the situation now as that it is time to make the change with Heckingbottom and get someone in who can change the style of football, get the players playing for the team again and the best case scenario is to salvage some dignity after their car crash start. I don’t like Warnock, but it is becoming increasingly hard not to think his reappointment until the end of the season might not be the worse thing in the world. He probably wouldn’t save us from the drop but I don’t think we would be seeing many performances like today
