Some guy text in Talksport asking if there was any truth in the rumour that Warnock was looking to buy "arry" for £1m.
Not sure how true it is, would be hard to see the board turn that much down for a kid

We should absolutely not be selling Maguire. A million will be tempting to the board for a junior player, but this would be a terrible decision. Maguire looked competent at Championship level and should be a regular feature at third tier level. Paiired with an experienced defender (Morgs, Ertl or AN other) he could be very good in League One. He is very young and is a Sheffield lad. I doubt he has got big ideas at this stage (though this is pure speculation) and wants to move to the capital to join a 'bigger club'. I realise that this is just a rumour, but it is concerning.

Selling any of our young players for less than an outrageous price (much more than the magic £1m) would be very short sighted IMO. We have no other means of assembling a strong team at this moment in time and youngsters could be the only way forward. We must hang on to our best young players at all costs. I would sooner spend money doing that, than spend money signing average/poor journeymen with no resale value.

Might not be an option.

We've got donkeys on big wages that if we can't off load will need to see youngsters sold just to pay the bills.

Sad but true.

I can gurantee he isn't going.
His own words 'he wants 1st team football for a year'

I think they turned down the Fulham bid as it was considered derisory. Apparantly, £500k wasn't it?

Anything considered acceptable and he's ooooooooooooooooofffffffffffffffffffffff!

It's funny how it's gone down over the last few weeks, when it was first reported it was £1M now it's less, I'm going off what was first reported.

If true, wise lad.

Fingers crossed.

If true, someone's talked some sense into him which is why I'm interested to know when this was said.

If it was at the end of the season then it what I might have expected, if its afterwards I would be in interested in when it was said.

Selling any of these young players when they've barely made it into the first team squad would make a total mockery of everything McCabe has said since the departure of Adams.

Isn't he a Wednesday fan? If that's the case we should be running him out of town on a rail.

1 of his team mates. Who might be on his way to Newcastle.

Interesting. Although I doubt one of his team mates would have said anything in the last week or so.

I can't see anything in this one. Him saying he wants to stay and play first team football that is.

This is a report from the Fulham side of things rather than The Star!

My own view is that had it have been a £1m bid, McCabe would've sold. Because it was £500k, he turned it down.

But hey............................just my opinion.

I think Maguire might be one that we should cash in on. Hope I'm spectacularly wrong but I'm not sure he'll turn into the player some people think he will.

I'd take £1.5m now.

I'm sure he'd make a decent player, but I have this nagging doubt about his pace. He's either lacking a bit of pace, or he looks very deceptive when he runs! :)

Where has the £1.5m originated from? Or is this just a figure you would be happy with?

He is lackng pace, and think this could be the one thing that would hold him back.

some text on talksport
my we are dragging the barrel to stir up trouble

will only believe weve bought or sold anyone until its on the official site

according to a letter in the readers digest we are selling ryan france to ajax for 4 million, or was that the prize if I wrote back

Stirring up trouble???? It's the rumours page mate. I heard a rumour and posted it on here, should have known better. Foxy n linz I will take my punishment however strict you choose for such a breach of the rules.

Surely Ryan France is worth more than that he had a great season had nothing to do with relegation.
But on a more realistic note I think that harry can make up for his lack of pace with his exceptional tackling. Look at how well he coped with bellamy who's like lightning. Also his ability in the air makes him avoid having to chase back constanly.
We've also got Terry Kennedy coming through who's only 1st year scholar and looks another good player. If these players were to leave they would only end back at this level the to gain experience problem is it wouldn't be with us. So let's keep hold for a year and take a gamble on them.

This is how it works. Some lazy journalist sits at his desk racking his brains over a story to write. All his mates are down the pub and he's just not hearing anything from his 'contacts'. So he thinks who's got promoted and who has got relegated? Promoted teams buy good players. Relegated teams sell their best players. So now it's just a case of making a connection. It doesn't matter whether or not there's any truth. That would be too much like hard work. All they need is a connection.

I know he thinks. That Neil Warnock, just got promoted with QPR.... now who does he have a connection with? That's it, it's that team that played *United in the FA Youth Cup *United being Manchester United as in journalists tiny brains there is only one. They just got relegated didn't they?

So with the connection in place it's only one small step to identify our key players and fabricate a story. Then it's off to the pub where he can sit back sound in the knowledge that it won't be long before some gullible Blade is reporting it as a 'rumour' and some even more gullible Blades are heading down the Lane with pitchforks in hand.

Don;t believe the lies. It just keeps them in a job.

Just a figure I plucked out of the air as one I'd be happy with.

He's slow across the pitch but, more worryingly, he also looks very slow to turn.

He is a reader rather than a runner and as much as he is a crowd favourite who coped well with Bellamy, it's a style of play that comes with risks. Plus, depending on what's offered, how much room for growth there is in his value. I don't really want to see him go, but money talks and I guess it also comes down to DW's assessment on his play and temperament.
