he’s gonna bring us that different option up front like Hanson did this time of year in the League One campaign which as we all know worked well
Difference being that Madine ACTUALLY retains possession for us.Calling DronnieBlade ?
Agree on both. It's obvious what Madine brings and it will help both goldie and Sharp for the final 17games.Gotta give Dowell some time before calling in a judgement if nothing else its competition for Duffy so will hopefully make him raise his game .
Madine looks like he’s gonna bring us that different option up front like Hanson did this time of year in the League One campaign which as we all know worked well , I think that’s definitely been a missing link when sides have sat deep against us and offers up someone who can hold the ball up and bring in midfield runners
never judge a player by his IQMadine was fantastic. Allowed us to attack that bit quicker as we had something to play up to. Perfect for when we play away. Seems intelligent on the pitch which is surprising given he seems thick as fuck off it.
I agree, I think Dowell will be very good in a team that has a lot of possession.
Listening to the radio it seems that he carry's the ball well for twenty or thirty yards but when looking to make the pass it wasn't on and he got closed down on a number of occasions.
He's also probably a player that looks to go through the middle instead of always looking wide, so the forwards have to make clever runs for him
Duffy IS a game changer though, and probably the reason we came away with a share of the spoils that keeps us in the hunt for automatic. Madine and Dowell have given Wilder his much needed Plan B which means we are serious contenders for top two now that we can compete with the top teams for the full 90 minutes rather than our customary 60 minutes. He will choose which half he chooses to go with Plan B - probably more Plan A then Plan B at home, and more Plan B then Plan A away from home.Always start with Duffy in my opinion, Dowell can come on but not a game changer!
I thought Dowell did well tbf. That was a tough game to play in, with Norwich down our throats especially in the first half. But his movement and forward play is good. Duffy is a one-off imo. He turns up all over the pitch and the opposition find it very hard to get the ball off him. I know everyone assumes this is a contest between Dowell and Duffy, but it needn't be. Both have a role to play - would be interesting to see how they play if they are both on the pitch at the same time.
