Madine wages

It's obviously a good deal financially for Cardiff.
They've got a striker who hasn't ever scored a goal for them, and has rarely even played, off their books and another club to pay most if not all his wages.
Bit of a no brainer, even for Warnock that one.

The info you got that from came out last year and was defunct several times on Cardiff Fans forums, all wages in that list was 2017/2018 whilst in the Championship and before any new contracts were handed out or any contractually obliged promotion increases.

So it’s not a fact, it’s complete rubbish!
No you’re mistaken, I mean that’s the amount we’re paying out of his current wage at Cardiff. They are paying the rest.

As Balham alluded to earlier in the thread, we're not paying Madine anything. Cardiff are paying him his wages, and we're paying Cardiff a loan fee. So it's nothing to do with the wages our players are on or our own wage structure.

It seems pretty reasonable to me to believe that we're paying Cardiff £3000k to loan Madine for the season, which roughly matches s4's £12k a week figure, with an agreement to pay another £500k if we get promoted - which would mean we had effectively covered his wages for the second half of the season.

How do you know? Seems to be a lot of people that must sit in on board meetings or be close pals with Wilder.

Reality is nonody knows except the club.

I don’t need to explain myself mate but I know for an absolute 100% fact that we are not paying Madine 30k a week. I’m don’t sit in board meetings nor am I pals with Wilder but either.

We're paying nowhere near that. About a third with a bonus if we achieve promotion.

You are paying all his wages plus there are incentives in the loan deal
Good trolling. We won't be paying anything like £30k a week, Warnock saying that it was financially favourable to Cardiff is spin for the fans.

It says he's on £12k p/w on spotrac which I think is used by journilists

Those figures are way out. Sol Bamba is on around £30k per week approx and is the mainstay of the team.

As other posters in this thread have alluded to, £30k per week for Madine is the norm for a newly promoted Permier League side.

Hope that helps

Even at 30 k a week it's still only 600 grand
Should have enough money left over to make a move for a good player

Good morning

Firstly , I thought Madine contributed quite significantly towards our promotion push last season, especially at Millwall and Ipswich , and in both games he suffered a broken nose and cracked ribs respectively.

That said, I think the injuries sustained did affect his confidence thereafter and this pushed him down the pecking order.

I am happy though, that you are paying his full £30k per week wages (with incidtives)if you obtain promotion.

I would say it’s a fantastic deal for us, but I sincerely hope he does well for you.

£30k a week is no problem to us Taffy. Most players here are on hundreds of pounds a week, not thousands. Our players won’t cotton to it. They’ll just think we are paying him in kilogrammes.

Much as I think this is a terrible deal, if Madine gets his head on something that ends up in the net because lets face it neither Clarke or McGoldrick get enough power on their headers and Madine can probably reach about 12 inches higher than Sharp (with his head) then he'll be worth every penny of the 15 guineas a week we are paying Cardiff for his services.
Edit: the goal will need to win 1 or more points.

If you could share the copy of the contract that you’ve seen that confirms this I’ll believe you. Until then I’ll believe a more sensible story.

I think he’ll be worth every penny of the 30k when he starts banging the goals in, hopefully he’ll bang some pig fans out on West Street as well.

Well done Wilder. Astute business.
Finally a replacement for asaba

Interesting that Sol Bamba - the ‘mainstay of the team’ is only on 30k yet your reserve striker is also on that much...

If £700K is the figure I would honestly have liked a small refurb of the food/drink concourse in the South Stand for that. I honestly don't think Madine will come to anything and it's a huge chunk of money down the drain.

If he scores 1 goal this season in a 1-0 win and we go up by a 2 point margin, then it's money well spent.... if he chins someone on eccy road next week and gets banged up again, I agree it was a waste....

True. Preston have just signed Stockley for £750k. That’s without any signing on fee and a commitment to pay his wages for the next 2 and a half(?) years. So it’s probably around £2m minimum on a player that might not be good enough for the championship.

I understand that argument and of course every signing is a risk, but at the same time, loans don't provide you with a potential future asset.

If Stockley does well at this level, the going rate for a decent Championship striker is anywhere between £6-10m now, so suddenly you've got a big asset on your hands. People may say he's just a big target man, but so was Hugill and we got £9.5m for him.

Where you currently are in the table though, it makes sense for you to throw a few quid at decent loans rather than lower league, development type singings.

£3000k is £3m. I think that is high. Btw do you need an IFA .I'm still regulated.

It could be the Championship equivalent of spending TWO HUNDRED GRAND on James Hanson.

Hanson had an impact, but hopefully Madine will contribute considerably more.

I was replying to a post saying ‘we couldn’t have signed a L1/L2 player for that’ and provided an example to support that statement. I wasn’t commenting on your recruitment policy.

Our recruitment policy isn’t based on what’s best for the club, it’s based on two owners going to Court to determine who ends up owning the club and their reluctance to commit money to a business they may not own in six months.

I’ve got no issue with us buying players to develop, it’s a good idea if you have good scouts but it’s just not on the cards in this window.

Well I hope that they close the doors firmly shut BEFORE the windows are opened in court as the cards will deffo be off the table......
