Madine likely to be leading the line for Blackpool on Saturday, him and mcburnie similar types of players and both Bell ends off the pitch.

Thoughts on who is the better player?

Not seen Madine play recently but based on his time with us I'd probably have to say he is better than mcburnie

"Bell-End"

Who's scored the more goals in the top two divisions?

Genuinely don't know but assuming OM.

OM also 5 or 6 years younger.

For his faults I'm also not convinced OM takes the piss out of disabled people or shits in pint pots in pubs.

Madine 27 goals while playing for Championship clubs across all competitions.
McBurnie 37 goals while playing for Championship & PL clubs across all competitions.

They aren't similar types of players. McBurnie isn't a target man and the fact that he's been played as one during most of his time here is the main problem.

I actually liked Madine when we had him, thought he helped us get across the line and gave us something totally different. Much like James Hanson did in L1.

We've moved on but just hope McB can come good. Thought he looked a bit livelier at Barnsley and it's time to see whether we want to hold onto him with a run of games.

A more appropriate question would be which one would you prefer to go for a pint with ?
I'm going to plump for mcburnie.
Deep down I think hes a decent geezer

I’m not going anywhere near one of Gaz’s pint pots. 😱

I liked Madine too and thought we could have done worse than sign him when he was on a free.

Factor in that McBurnie is about 6 or 7 years younger than Madine.
Maybe to spin this argument on its head a bit. Do you think McBurnie will be a championship player when he is 31?

Absolutely this
Most (all ?) of his goals (<SUFC) were scored by playing the ball in front of / across him (facing the goal)
Last 3 games we’ve netted 6 ( (& squandered similar quantity) with balls ‘on the deck’ / scorer facing the goal (running ‘on’ to pass / (low) cross
Select OMc v Barnsley & hoof it high expecting him to win the ball (& find a man) with his back to goal, 35 yards out
Next topic: If it takes 4 blokes six hours to dig a hole how long will it take them to dig half a hole

I liked Madine, he was fairly decent too apart from the Brentford game. In hindsight signing him on a free instead of £20m plus on McBurnie might have been a better option, but McBurnie was the second top scorer in the league at the time.

You just knew he'd score against us that day for Bolton. One thing I loved about Wilder, signing a sh*thouse and making him a loveable rogue like Leon

I'd like to see McBurnie in a front 5.

MGW N'Diaye Osborn
Mousset McBurnie

But unfortunately we have soft defenders that would get exposed.

They're not the same kind of player at all really, outside of being tall. The problem is, when a tall person comes on the pitch our players start hoofing it up.

McBurnie would have a lot more joy if our players treated him like he was 5'8".

They're both bellends off the pitch I suppose, I'll let that stand.

So you are saying we need to cut McBurnie's legs so he is shorter? It could work.
