LWB?

Bryan isn’t here to play LWB seems to clear he’s backup for JoC and of course could help fill in wherever.

Hard at LWB if we sign someone else it puts Norrington Davies even further behind. If we sign better than Stevens I don’t see how Norrington Davies can get ahead of Stevens and any other improvement we bring in.

The best case scenario for everyone would be if RND gets given an opportunity, and really takes it. An attacking threat on that left side would instantly turn us into a much better team.

He's played CB. He's played in midfield. That suggests he's reasonable on the ball. He looks a good size. If he's fairly athletic he should have no problem at LWB.

He might be ok there, but careful in taking those attributes and assuming they’ll excel rather than simply get by in a wingback role. The same for example could have been said of Basham, and we know how that looked on the whole.

I still don't think we should write him off, and I really don't think he deserves to be called shite though

If you're a Blade you support the team.

All of them.

This is not 'Bigger./better Blade' bollocks, it is just common sense.

You might not like some players as much as others, but you give them all your backing (with a few obvious exceptions like Marlon Girlbeater, Curranpig etc).

To write players off as 'shite' when they've had a half decent season is a bit pathetic IMHO. Ignore them if you don't like them, but don't slag them off when they give 100% and the manager obviously rates them.

My thoughts too.

I'm not convinced by Stearman or Basham (I'm strictly reffering to their ability, not their attitude) but I'll continue to support them as long as they're in the team.

Bryan isn't here, unless I've missed the announcement

Not a big fan of Stevens and agree we could improve that position. However think there’s other priorities were the money would be(and has been) better spent.

Also if we fail to make top 6 it won’t be because our left back isn’t good enough

Fine I'll downgrade him to 'gash' then, sheeesh.

STATEMENT:

Our left wing back by the end of the season will be Kean Bryan or Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Prediction. Tries him at LWB against Hull in the cup, comes on as LWB against Bolton away, is left wing back of choice thereafter.

Who, Brian Keen or Norradavo?

Ken Brain

Reading Wilder's comments has convinced me he'll play LWB, or at least be serious competition there.

Says he's "technically sound, quick and aggressive".

That's pretty much how I'd describe Baldock on the other side, so I'm convinced too.

Left sided defender who's played in midfield with a bit of pace. Sounds perfect.

We're a bit short even if Stevens is fit.

Cos he's shite.

I've noticed no enda hate on here for Stevens recently.

I think the man deserves a break. He came from nowhere for virtually nothing, and was like a machine up and down the left flank last season.

I know he made a couple of costly errors, and flagged towards the enda the season, but he has another year's experience in the championship under his belt now, and has had a rest.

Still a huge part to play this season.

Enda message.

Thing that dusaoiinted me with ends and baldock was that in tight games towards the end of the season most of our best chances of creating something fell to them and they were lacking composure to say the least
Maybe now they realise they are championship players at a big club with serious Ambitions they might grow in confidence and take that next step up
Hope so as the wing back positions are key to us

Just because a centre back has a left foot and can play in midfield doesn't mean he can play left wing back. It;s an incredibly punishing role and I personally laughed when people states that O'Connell can cover there.

As for Stevens, less of a criticism of his ability, more the fact her desperately needed a rest during the second half of last season and there was no one Wilder trusted to cover him. Hence the need for another LWB (and Norrington-Davies has never played a competitive football match yet 28 minutes as sub against Doncaster's reserves seems to have convinced many that he's ready to start games in the Championship)

I’d like us to go for Jay Dasilva, seemingly still available for loan from Chelsea. Think he’d be a direct upgrade on Stevens who remains, in my opinion, our weakest starter by some distance.

Even if it's just until January and we loan out Norrington-Davies until then and bring him back if he's showing promise.

I think any possibility of that is dead now unfortunately.

We currently have 4 players capable of playing LWB.

Nothing can really happen until Lafferty leaves and Norrington-Davies is loaned out. And I think Lafferty will stay.

LWB!!!! please let
The Rangers lot reckon he failed a medical?

..according to this:

https://talksport.com/football/4040...bryan-thanks-to-ibrox-manager-steven-gerrard/

he was to play 'Left Sided Midfield' for Gerrard...so who knows Wilder's plans for the lad (if he signs)

He didn’t sign for Rangers cos his girl friend is best mates with Celtic player Scott Sinclairs wife. FACT.

(I don’t know if that is actually true but I’ve put ‘FACT’ there so now it is)

Capable of playing LWB in the Championship regularly?

What's that got to do with him playing LWB??
