Lunny contract?

Just seen the online video of CW on the Coronavirus shutdown activities

Chris didn't specifically mention anyone in particular, but he commented generally on how clubs should aproach players who's contracts may be finishing before the end of the season ( whnever that is ).
He made it clear, that if any player was uncertain as to whether they wanted to extend their contract or not then he would make that decision easy for them
" If you dont want to play for the club, that's OK bye-bye, I probably wont be allowed to drive them anywhere, but I would be happy to do so otherwise"

Whilst I do understand a player's desire to get the best deal possible, I also support Wilder's position, one based on taking players who previously were going nowhere fast and, in the context of a team that was far stronger than the individual, improved considerably due to Wilder and Knill's coaching and guidance.

Whatever the pro's and con's of this debate, of course my support lies with this club and it's manager. If Lundstram decides to leave then it will be interesting to see if he manages to hold down a place in Championship side as I can't imagine a decent Prem club needing his services. Lunny has some useful attributes, but he's not exactly instinctive or a game changer. Good luck son, but should you leave you'll have made a poor decision.

Even if Lundstram were to leave we’ll be triggering the option to protect us for an extra year, so he’s not one for us to worry about extending to cover the end of the season. In fact I’m not worried about any of the first team squad in that regard. The only one not in the 25 is Holmes, and I can’t wait for June 30 in his regard.

If I was Lunny I would sign ASAP before the value of the contract halves.

Would be a blow, suits that midfield role more than Berge. Do agree with Wilder though in principle, the club shouldn’t let players piss about when it comes to contracts.

I think he has missed that boat. I’m sure I read CW say that contract talks where on hold during this time. Hard to give someone a raise in there contract now with the current climate. Have to wait for the season to start again.

If he doesn’t sign it we cash in on him in the summer.

The club have the option of a year extension anyway don't they ,can't imagine the wages will be much on that .so if he wants to play premier league football for championship wages with a pay off on the horizon then that's his prerogative

Given that the state of football finances is bound to be worse now than before, it is hard to imagine that any new contract offer is going to be as good as the ones he had already turned down. Just like Duffy
Lunny is going to learn that greed is not always good. UTB
