Lundstrum. Like The Clash said...

Stay obviously.

Our midfield is perfect now, why sell Lundstram to bring another in to challenge what we have and sit on the bench?

To genuinely compete, we'd be spending millions on a position we don't need to be strengthening.

Was fine as a sub to shore things up against Villa.

Will be a perfectly good midfielder in conjunction with Norwood or Coutts. He now has the opportunity to carve out his own identity without having to emulate a very different kind of footballer.
Really good post that. Well said.

Think Lundstram is a good all rounder, he’s good at many things midfield related but is far from mastering anything. He’s currently a very poor mans Steven Gerard.

Lunny has tried the Coutts defensive midfield role, he’s crap at tackling, can make some good long passes but lacks composure and sometimes gives the ball away in bad areas.

Lunny has tried Flecks box to box driving midfielder role. He has the energy and can't tackle but his decision making is hit and miss, tends to keep it safe with too many sideways passing. Also he’s had a few half chances arriving late in the box but tends to miss the goal.

If he stays the current standard then get rid.

However Lunny is still young and liable to improve. He still has a lot of potential, so I would keep and develope him.

Really believe in 2 or 3 years he’ll do a Paul Coutts and be one of our key players.

There you go, sorted it for you ... for such a big bloke he is one nesh f***er.

I'm all for not having an overbloated squad, but equally we need cover for injuries, knackered legs and suspensions and he's certainly good enough for that.

I too would have preferred to keep Leonard but Millwall wanted him and nobody wanted Lundstram so here he stays! He offers adequate and needed cover. I don't think he is good enough but I thought the same of Coutts so what do I know?

He hasn’t got the mental ability to make it as a top half championship player. His head drops too easily after a mistake and his game goes downward after that.

If he sorts that out he could be a decent player for us but it’s a big ask.

The Clash must have been closet Blades because they also did

Although I must confess that I don’t remember the full story behind the classic “I Fought Denis Law”

I am happy to keep Lundstram while ever we have Fleck,Duffy,Coutts and Norwood fit and available because he would only play 'off the bench' when it was necessary.Unfortunately,he isn't good enough to start regularly in a championship side that has ambitions to challenge for promotion to the premiership,it really is as simple as that.

Denis Law won.

Doesn't help when some of our supports boo him when he walks on to the pitch, like they did against Villa.

Simple. We get rid of him and get someone else, only better. We can't keep passengers in the squad just because he made one good tackle. Doyle getting a stay of execution just because of his silly walk was bad enough.

Yep, just needs someone with excellent passing ability (with both feet as strong as each other), strength and power, leadership ability who can finish well from midfield and who’s also young, with time and hunger to improve, who also fits the psychological and character profile which limits who can be signed. Oh, and he can’t be too expensive either. Let us know how you go on in your search :)

He’s not the first player to struggle with being the boo-boy, and won’t be the last.

Lots of people didn't rate Coutts at first, me included.

If there was interest in Coutts in 2016/17 pre-season he’d be gone. So that’s not always the best indicator of a player’s abilities

I was talking about Lundstram not Norwood.

Cue multiple imaginary threads now about the "Lundstram haters" to be filed with the "Billy Haters" and "Wilder Haters", from everyone with an "agenda".

I've got an agenda (no quotation marks though), but I don't hate Billy, Lunny or Chris.
Nor Leon, Stearman, Enda and anybody else.

Should I be worried and do you think I should see a doctor?

Nope and I don't hate anyone or have an agenda either but that's the accusation you get levelled at you if dare to be critical of anyone.

I was talking about Lundstram too. As good as Norwood is, I haven’t seen him use his left yet nor his finishing abilities

Most teams over the last couple of years have been Overpowered By Fleck.

I feel sorry for all those players we buy that never make the first team, no matter how much work they put in at practice. They all Train In Vain.

I'm so sorry.

like a dog with a bone
took a dislike and wont open their eyes

he does not train in vain and will rock the Casbah whilst here
WIlder likes him , say no more
here to do a specific job , the ugly stuff, and has a better win ratio than brooks had

Did he seriously get booed onto the pitch when 4-1 up against Villa? Tell me it was only the odd braindead and not any group?

And I'd just like to point out how fucking hideous that is to bring up ^

He's not primarily an 'ugly stuff' player either. Not surprised a lot of our fans would think he is though.
