Lundstram new contract? Option to buy Besic?

Might be in a minority but never been fussed about Besic. Loved a slide tackle but that was about it. Certainly think we could do better next season when recruiting midfielders. I'd have Nick Montgomery in the side over him.

Can't blame Lundstram for cashing in and going for a pay day. Across starting senior players in the Premier League, he's probably the lowest paid player by some margin? He's 27 (close to his peak) and has the chance to secure himself for life with a contract worth a 4 or 5 million. No idea on wages, but I'd be surprised if he's on more than 8k/week as not signed new deal since promotion and probably has the chance to quadruple that.

My gripe is with Wilder and Heck continually playing him and not seeking to improve on, or not dropping him when he's been dreadful for so long.

He's a woefully inadequate footballer for the Premier League. A purple patch aside 18 months ago, he's poor poor player. Just watch him with the ball at his feet, he has no idea what to do. Can't pick a pass, can't take on a man, can't dictate play. I also think he must know this to some extent.

Glad to see the back of him, purely because I'm certain any signing we make would be an improvement

It's amazing that if he knows how poor he is, why he didn't accept the apparently generous offer that was made by United? Regardless of what his income is, he signed that contract and while ever he was picked, he should have given all he could for the team. From what I have seen of him, I don't believe he has been as committed as he should have been. The managers should have seen that and he shouldn't have played half as much as he has.

An agent doing his Job.

He'll get 60k a week at Palace/Newcastle type club with a fat signing on bonus as he is a HG player on a free transfer with some PL pedigree (remember 'Lord Lundstram Fantasy Football').

Otherwise he might sign for Rangers and play Champions League football next year at one of the most famous football clubs in the world.

He'll be in a better position next season than we as a club will be, and honestly I don't blame him for rejecting a new contract.

It's just I wonder if I'm wrong and those moves fail to materialize whether he'll go back and Hammond style sign a new contract here on June 30th before we release him if the contract offer remains on the table?

I think he'll go to to a Billy big bollocks championship club who think they deserve to be promoted because they're spending money and getting "Premier League players", they'll focus on his first half of 19/20 and ignore everything else.

I'd go Bournemouth if they don't go up, maybe Brentford.

If he ends up getting Premier League minutes next season then football is dead.

The only thing lundstram does well is time a run into the box. Decent at getting on the end of things and that’s about it, Sadly that skill is pointless in a season where we are unable to mount an attack most games.

in fairness to him he’s not scored for a season and is still our 5th top scorer in the PL run (and 12 all time!). One behind moose, billy, 2 behind mcburnie and 4 behind mcgoldrick.

I don't have a problem with an agent getting the best deal for his client, and don't have a problem with a player moving on to bigger or better things, what I and suspect many others have a problem with, is a level of performance and effort dropping off a cliff, while insisting they deserve a better deal and better contract, in any other industry he would have been laughed out of the building, what has he done to warrant an extension of his current deal, let alone improved terms? He has brought nothing to the team, even in an awful season, not one man of the match performance, arguably two memorable performances and not good memories, the penalty miss at Villa and the sending off at Brighton.
For the benefit of everyone, don't even name him in the squad for Burnley, doesn't deserve a seat on the bench, or a goodbye lap/appreciation lap, rather reserve that for the U23s.
Fully expect a few stories to leak out, once he has gone.

Norwood and Fleck have been total dog shite this season. The difference between them and Lundstram is that for the most part they have still tried. Lundstram for the majority of this season (if not all of it) clearly hasn't. That's the difference.

Lundstrams contract situation is just a side issue as far as I'm concerned (I'm ecstatic that he hasn't signed it tbh).

It the lack of giving a fuck that has grated with me and I can't wait to see the back of him. I also see that Hecky Thump has been defending good ol Lunny again in the press. The fact that he's has to do that an a few occasions now to defend his effort levels should tell you everything that you need to know. He's not had to that for any other player. There's the clear difference. Lack of ability I can accept. Lack of effort given to the cause...get fucked. Gud ol Lunny comes under the latter.

Heckys exact words were along the lines of the commitment, effort and professionalism he showed in training, which while praiseworthy should be the minimum expected of any professional player, no matter what wage they are on, the issue that I and presumably many others have,,is that commitment, effort and professionalism never showed in any game this season, everyone knew when he grabbed the ball for the penalty at Villa, in his own mind, it was an opportunity too big, not to take, to score and then point at his name on the his shirt, and parade around with a face like a smacked arse, the penalty was all about him not the team.
Urgently remove all pens/pencils from BL and put his contract through the shredder before he signs!

He will do a lot of pointing, a lot of jogging around into space, receive the ball, look up and pause and then with a great deal of ability caress the ball backwards to the full back
This great move repeated many times in a match, he has put in hours of extra training to improve his technique of putting a lovely pass back to the full back, he can be very proud of himself.
Perhaps he is now in Scotland he can move onto the next skill level of passing the ball sideways

Think he'll do well up there, in League One standard football
