Freeman getting a lot of hammer from the Forest fans for starting today on Twitter. Doesn’t sound like he’s hit the ground running since the op.

“A supreme talent in the Championship”.

See #15 below 😀.

Me can see the flaw in your dubious perspective mi owd China 😉.

Is it an option or obligation to buy stringer?
I wonder what Forest would pay to not have to take him at the end of the season?
Would they give us £1-2m for us to drop the purchase clause?

What's our thoughts on this bloke then? I'd be really keen for him to stay and get a regular game and we need more bodies in the middle, he'd be a real asset to have.

Watching his interview yesterday, on the one hand he's eager to play, on the other hand he wouldn't directly answer if he absolutely intends to stay. Which, can you blame him? A bit-part first season and a second season on loan, he can't feel too much affinity with the club. That said, I hope we can give him a role, play to his strengths and see what he can do.

Personally and I think from comments on here many agree, Freeman is such a talented player who was sadly underused by Wilder in first season and has technical ability beyond most Championship players, let alone within out=r squad. Ever since the games v Stevenage from the first season in League One Freeman stood out as a player of immense skill and I remember in the play off games in particular crapping myself each time he got the ball and ran at us, he was a standout player for both teams.

So back to now, if we can get the best out of him then we have a 10 a season man and similar with assists. Problem is, is that he's still likely to be understudy to Fleck and are we going to sacrifice one of our 8 forwards for an attacking mid, with just two up top? In short because of how the team is with so many forwards and three left sided midfielders in Fleck and Osborn as well as Freeman, I can see that if he doesn't feature much in the first few league games then he'll likely be on the blower to his agent wanting a loan move and if I was Luke Freeman I'd be doing the same. From the interview I'm not convinced that he believes he's gonna be a regular even though he prefers the football.

He's a victim of the quality of Fleck as, arguably our best player, and the number of strikers meaning that I can see Slav going with three up top - which I want to fit in Burke because he's another who could tear a new one in this league if played in correct position. If Freeman was younger this would be a different story or injuries to Fleck (hopefully not) because then Freeman would in the former have time to improve/develop possibly with a loan spell with view to coming back like RND, and in the latter get first team football. I just hope for his sake that this season is his season, whether with us or not, but if not with us then he's got a problem of us not wanting him to join a rival!

I hope he stays, he's something different in midfield, he'll take a man on, be a bit more aggressive in getting forward, which suits what we look to be doing, and he's been a quality player at this level.

It's a shame he doesn't seem to belong but as you say, not surprising considering. I wouldn't feel very loved either if I was him, hopefully he has that chat with Slav and gets some regular football.

Thought we'd landed a great player when he came to Forest. Possibly one of our worst players of the season though. Ridiculously out of shape, and he had to have an op to, so whilst his skill may still be there, we rarely saw it due to him not really being able to get himself in the game.

Listening to him he admitted Wilders formation never suited him, which means add it to the list of Wilder's bizarre later signings.
I'd like to see him given more games, I've always rated him

Likelihood is he won’t be a Blades player for much longer.

Been a very Samir C / Ricky H type signing .

yeah im thinking same only role for him would be the number 10 role but i think slave will play with a 3 up front 1 main striker and 2 wide players in support

Ha, I'd fucking LOVE that. I think Wilder's old school British methods of management would suit us to a tee, as our academy produces some excellent young 100% players (the likes of Lascelles, Cash, and as you know Osborn).

But we've adopted a more continental modus operandi, and I don't think Wilder would get the freedom to operate as he needs to in order to be successful.

Hughton's done a good job considering the mess he inherited, but we're going nowhere until that mess is fully sorted out unless we get very lucky.
