Is Adkins a lucky manager?
Does positivity bring its own rewards..?

Is it better to be lucky than 'good' ( good being a bit above average)

Of course you can be both and I'm hoping to hope's sake that Adkins can get us into the play off's and win it with a winner off Billy's arse in the 97th minute...

We've had enough of the other so let's hope so eh?

I don't like having this much luck. It will end and then we are left with a team that has lost away to bottom of the league (Crewe) and should've lost today to second bottom.

..but 'luck' will see us through..don't want t to bring 'the footballing gods' into this because I know they post on here..but let's take it while we can eh?

We've been unlucky many matches this season.
Pressing for a win and looking like scoring then the other team goes down the other end and score a late or last minute goal.

Luck supposed to even itself out but we've generally had bad luck this season.
Think about the number of spectacular long range shots the opposition have score against us.
What about the goals we've conceded totally against the run of play.

So we are due some more matches like Colchester today where we get points we don't deserve.

A chap rang Praise or Grumble this evening and said promotion sides win when they play badly; something I think we would all agree with? I would call that being lucky, in that when it's going for you it just goes for you, you come out on top from the 50/50 balls, the ricochets go your way, the key refereeing decisions in certain games, the legitimate goal for the opposition gets disallowed, playing a team just before they sack their manager instead of when they've just installed the new one.....

Personally I don't feel we are having one of those seasons but several recent matches, most notably (for different reasons) Coventry, Bradford, Wigan and Colchester may well suggest otherwise. .....?

Been saying it since adkins tightened up the way we play
At this level with the right amount of application you can win enough games to make the play offs simply by trying hard

You will win some games you should lose and lose some games you should win but lets be reight its a poor poor division this year and its better this way than the spineless whimpering surrenders we were witnessing before

I don't know if it is luck, good fortune or the footballing gods are watching over us, but with the way we are playing and the results we have had I'm not complaining about being 1 point of the playoffs, just think if we were playing out of our skins every week, easily top 2

you always need that bit of good fortune
deflections are a huge part of that
watching motd you can see shots deflected in and shots deflected wide , more out of luck than judgement
and getting the refs to give you the rub as opposed to dropping clangers

Peterborough away, Bradford at home; Scunthorpe away, Coventry at home.....two great performances and two bad ones, all resulting in victory.

Without actually looking at every game this season, I'd say we've had more bad performances than good and we are only one point off the play offs! Is it luck? I think it's just a case of a poor standard in the division overall, like bladebri says, if we played just consistently well, we'd be pushing the top two I reckon?
