Just a quick post on the lad, one of my mates (Wednesday fan) went to the Chesterfield v Grimsby game on Saturday (His girlfriend is a chesterfield fan). He commented that young Reed was the best player on the park, head and shoulders above anyone else and unlucky to be on the losing team. Sounds promising for his development.

Not sure I believe him. Reed's 4 ft 2" isn't?

Poor choice of words haha.

I saw him outside Fleetwood he was handing out some sort of flyer outside the ground with a couple of the other youth prospects, he genuinely looked about 12.

I hope he reaches his potential. I don't think he was helped by being chucked in too early at Bramall Lane and then shunted in and out of the squad.

It has to be said that he didn't look out of place when we played Southampton or Spurs in the League Cup run a few years ago.

your mate sounds a decent sort, unlike your average Wednesday fan who'd say something like, 'worst player on the pitch and needs a lick of paint, OUCH my kidneys.'

It was to fill time before his shift on the pie stall.

The kind of player that'll be good in a good team but non existent in a not so good team.

Ever read something back that made a lot of sense in your head but makes less sense when you see it typed out?

Fuck it.

Good. He is our player, with time on his side. He may yet come through for us. He may not.

Good he is getting some football as his progress at BDTBL is stifled by the competition he is up against in CM for a shirt.

GLTTL.

Wednesdayites will watch Reed tonight and think " bloody 'ell if he cant get into the squad how good are the rest?"

Any reports on how Louis played tonight?

He,s still our player even though Silent posts a cartoon with silent comment which must mean something, only he knows what, but he remains silent.

It's called rhetoric. The dog (it's not a cartoon) has noticed that Chez Vegas have now lost 3-1 and 4-1 respectively in their first two games of the season. He also saw Reed's most recent performances for us. He's a little puzzled by your proposition.

Dogs know their football.

Ah, now I understand, great post Silent. Thanks Pinchy.:tumbleweed:

Little Louis will still be developing when he is 28

Went with some Spireite mates to the sty last night.
Reed was tidy in possession and fairly dangerous going forward but a big gulf between him and Championship players in terms of physicality and work off the ball. Caught in possession when receiving ball with his back to goal when Spireites under the cosh a few times in first half and almost never won it back.

Don't expect we'll see him in a Red and White shirt again, we've moved beyond him and he just isn't capable of keeping up, I suspect.

He may make a Lower League career out of Football but doubt he'll go beyond that.

So when have you seen him playing in the Championship in order to make that assumption. Last night he was playing with League 2 players against a near full strength Championship play off side. If you had watched all night as I do you would have seen him never stop running pressing and chasing for the full 90 minutes as per the team instructions. Unfortunately some of the team weren't quite as energetic resulting in huge gaps between the pressing midfield and the back four
Oh and just for good measure, after the way he has been treated at the club the last 18 months I wouldn't want him wearing the Red and White shirt again!

How has he been treated?

Other than having to play for the u23s which is perfectly reasonable considering he hasn't shown to be good enough for a first team birth.

He's now on loan in League 2, arguably a step up in class. So, it's time to do what Whiteman has done and try to prove he has what it takes and force the managers hand into giving him a try.

So far, he's failed to do that.
