I know mate, you couldn't Make Up some of this abuse. f Louis is upset with these comments his Mum could give him a Wagon Wheel, cheer him up a bit. Or even a toy Transformer. He definitely doesn't want to just be Hangin' Around in the under 21s all season.

Agreed. I think we need to tone down the animal language.

And just to bring the thread full cirlcle....

Well done to Louis REED on being selected to represent your country!

I checked the original post and can't see where Enigmatic the OP suggests he should be playing most games and leading us to promotion? Which makes a lot of the criticism all the more absurd.

This is my view, and this may seem harsh but when i saw Reed play every time at BDTBL last season, he didn't stand out as a good player nor a good prospect on any occasion. I thought he was often out-muscled very easily and didn't really get involved in the game and just seemed to pass it as soon as he got it instead of trying to run forward at the opposition.

I certainly don't think he is anywhere near the quality of Che Adams because we have seen no performances from him that even come close to the ability that Che has shown. For these reasons i fail to understand why Reed was given more game time last season than Che, and not the other way around.

I may be seen as being harsh here but football is a harsh business and Reed is nowhere near good enough for L1 IMO, maybe L2 at best. That's not to say he won't improve, and i congratulate him on his England call up even though i don't agree with it. He just doesn't strike me as a Maguire, Walker, Jags or any other good players we have produced so i don't see the fuss with him and personally think he's over-rated.

Some of the comments here have been vicious.

I know, but I have broad shoulders and can look after myself. Don't worry...
Put yourself in Reed's position, how do you think it feels?

...or Nigel Clough, perhaps?

If Louis Reed is the sensible, well-advised lad I believe him to be, he will agree that he has much to learn and that you don't get a first team place without earning it, and certainly not by virtue of playing for England Boys. He will be determined to improve on his most recent performances at League One level. He will want to improve in all aspects of his game and will realise why that learning will include a number of outings at U-21 level, a place on the bench and perhaps a spell on loan. Above all, he will not have his head turned by absurdly exaggerated claims as to his present ability.

I tend to agree with you. Playing Reed regularly would be a bit risky, for Adkins a walk on the wild side perhaps.
