Just a thought, with Cloughie nurturing talent eg Will Hughes for one, I think Reed may end up been our Will Hughes if cloughy stays here long term.

I honestly think if led in the right path (which he is doing by Clough) he will be become one of our next 'Kyle Walkers,Naughton,Maguires'...hopefully not the selling part.

The other thing that needs to be remembered is that he is still only 17 and will naturally have a dip in form. Let's hope that the more moronic among our fans don't get on his back when that happens.

In my opinion, he's one of the most exciting young players to come through in my time following the Blades and I hope we can keep hold of him. The only way to do that is to make sure that we, as a club, are on an upward trajectory.

Clough is undoubtedly the man to bring players like Reed on. Other managers have threatened to do this in the past but have generally preferred to go down the experienced / journeyman route. It was more a case of injuries that brought the Kyles to the fore rather than any great plan but Clough definitely seems to be in the 'good enough, old enough' camp and does seem to know how to look after them and remove them from the limelight when needs be.

Hopefully, Reed can be given time to develop and I've no doubt our fans will give him time, the only issue could be bigger clubs coming in or the lad getting 'turned' himself.

At the moment I think he's a boy playing a man's game, despite his talent.

I am reminded that Dane Whitehouse didn't look strong enough to play league football when he first came through, but after a couple of seasons where he'd played relatively few games he'd developed some strength, and of course became a good quality PL player. I hope Reed can do the same - if he gets a shot on him and becomes more difficult to knock off the ball he'll be some player.
