Yes but if we are upper reaches of the Championship for instance then the draw of Hull City isn't going to worry us like it would do now.

Said young Reed was some player when we played a friendly earlier in the season. You can see it straight away. Touch, vision and ability for such a young lad. Wonder if his name was Sergio Scorchio if some of our lot would be a bit more excited by him.

I would definitely be excited if we had a player called Sergio Scorchio, that's a fantastic name. He'd be a rapid winger with a delicate, yet elaborate, quiff.

Reed is special, I was surprised he got the full 90 minutes today with the night after Tuesday on the horizon.

Got to assume he will be on the bench?

He better not be! He's done brilliantly in the games against the Premiership sides and helps us retain the ball when we win it.
 
I'm disappointed we never signed Sergio Scorchio.

Just think though, in two years Brooko could be playing for Chesterfield.

As a club we have the experience of developing quality young players through the Academy and selling them. Lessons should have been learned about how to motivate the lad to sign a contract and to believe he is still developing as a player with us. Inevitably big clubs will have him on their radar. A 16 year old from Norway has just signed for Real Madrid and Reed will have been noticed outside the UK I'm sure.

At some stage SUFC have to develop as a club and everybody connected hope and pray that the day arrives when we stop being a selling club. However the realities of the situation cannot be ignored, Harry Maguire left us for 4 times his salary at Bramall Lane. Has it helped his game in the short term? Possibly not, though he is training and learning alongside quality players week in week out and learning all about the Premier League even from the bench, while banking £3/4 million per annum.

Grass roots football has suffered since the Premier League was created, in fact that's why it was started by big clubs in the first place - greed. As a small club on the wrong side of the tracks at present we are at the mercy of clubs who could shell out £5m without a thought. We should make sure we get far more than that one way or another.

I’m not pleased for him because he couldn’t have done that if he’d had 3 days’ notice in his 50 odd goalless games for us and if he could actually shoot he would have put us into the league cup final v Spurs in 2015 but no, he missed an excellent chance.

Fluke by a scrappy midget who is one of the symbols of our dark ages.
 
Pleased for him as well he always had decent technical ability and was a nice neat and tidy CM. Just never took that next step and was probably always handicapped by his physicality. He’s shown the right attitude and application though and carved a good career out for himself.
 



I’m more pleased for our leader in exile, Woodwardfan, than I am for little Louie. It’s always a red letter day when the wisdom of the vanquished OP is resurrected in plain view.

I’m sure raul and others will join me in urging the mods to reverse their arbitrary ban, and Free The WWF1.

He's not exactly a prolific scorer for a midfielder, 11 goals in 236 appearances in all competitions before Sunday.
He's probably just experienced the high point of his entire career.
Fair play to him though, at least he's had a career.

Why against us?

I know he’s a Blade and probably a nice bloke, but bollocks to him. We are out of the cup because of him and his flukes so it baffles me why people are singing his praises.
 
I always thought he was a tidy player. It’s easy to say him still being in league one means he’d never been good enough any higher, for us. Football has lots of sliding doors moments and luck. If he’d been in that promotion side of Wilder’s (with many other players who had previously not looked any better than L1), then who knows.
 
Well done to Louis, he’s had a decent career in the lower leagues. I bet he couldn’t believe his luck when we left him unmarked for the second time, kamikaze defending by us to allow a near carbon copy second goal.
