Don't regard myself as qualified to comment but what I will say is that Lankshear moving on has really opened the door for this lad to take his chance.

Lankshear I think is 18 months younger and though it appeared he would be fast tracked ahead of Marsh, you can't deny Marsh has repaid the faith in him.

If I'm not wrong I believe he has double figures for the season now at U21 level. The last one who was knocking them in like that is now at the World Cup! He's only 19 in October and at 1.86m, he's a decent height too.

No need to start talking about first team yet but we've had a good conveyor belt in N'Diaye, Jebbison, Osula, Marsh, not to mention Lankshear who we had to let go.
Marshy has a better around game than Lankshear ,he maybe slightly older but not developed physically as quickly as Lankshear.
Lankshear is an out and out striker where as Marshy creates as well as scores goals.
I enjoyed Ndiah coming through!
Marshy excites me just as much if not more so as he is a sheffield lad and big blade like a number of kids we have coming through just now.
Reminds me of the early sixties when Archie Clark was the guru who brought a string have young kids through under John Harris.
At that time we brought almost an entire team through the ranks and most did play if only for a short time in the top division with us.
We brought in T C in 1967 just as it was all pear shaped as we got relegated and since then it's been snakes and ladders ! We are on top of the ladder at present can we stay there or fall off.?

Under 23 forwards rarely do anything at the top level unless they are physical freaks or so talented it's obvious they are set for stardom. L2 this season and L1 on loan next if we stay up, L1 loan or back up spot for United if we go down.

Hard to tell how along a talented young player will take to develop !
Physical maturity has a big part to play but not all.
Ferguson at Brighton only 18 yet playing like a mature player, does happen but rare! His physical maturity is well advanced for an 18 year old .
This Scottish lad On'e showed tremendous pace scoring yesterday and is very well developed for a 17 year ( birthday in june) could he be one? (Not a pun)
The club will be monitoring his progress closely ,6ft5ins and quick off the mark that is rare! Haaland is a good example!.
Our academy is brilliant nas been for a long time now,the young quality we now bring in is an upgrade on what they have had to work with in the past and yet we brought through walker,Maguire and Calvert Lewin !
Brilliant really.

He needs to stay at Donnie for the full season and get a second worth of men's football under his belt. It would do him the world of good. Hopefully another loan next season higher up the footballing food chain too. Then we can see exactly where he is in his development in 18 months time.
100% this. I still think Jebbison and Osula being recalled wasn't the best for their development

People moaning about him being loaned out have no idea how beneficial this will be for him. He isn't ready for premier league football. Yeah throw him into the lions den and then when people see he isnt ready let them call.him shit....that'll help him! Smh.
You misunderstand. The purpose of keeping these young players is precisely so we can scream 😡"Fucking Useless Fucking Waaaanker!"😡 at them when we concede late winners to the best teams in the world.

Basically the more cunts we can scream "Cunt!" at the better.

Then, if, by some miracle, they survive this ordeal, we can claim it was all character-building and we played a vital role in their development.

It's fucking four-dimensional fucking chess.

Heard he's done his ACL. A friend knows his family. If it's BS then I apologise and its a sick thing to make up but it wouldn't surprise me.

He did get injured last week in training but didn’t hear what exactly, gutted for the lad if it’s his ACL.

Contract expires in 18 months so he either signs a new one and goes out on loan or we sell him.
It us the nature of the business

Needs games down the leagues to bridge the gap.

Excellent at junior level, a good way off Champ level yet.

I thought I saw Fleetwood mentioned as a destination. I don’t know where I saw it… so I’m definitely not ITK. 😳

Marsh is more like Didsy compared to other strikers. His vision, link up play and calmness on the ball is excellent for his age. He was by far the stand out in the development team last season which included Brooks, Arblaster and Peck. The added bonus is that he can score too. He often shoots early instead of taking extra touches, pretty much as soon as he gets clean sight on goal. Ryan One is more like Jebbison and Osula. Fast and can finish but doesn't have an all round game, which is why Marsh is better than him. He's been incredibly unlucky that our failure to bring in another striker in the summer meant we couldn't send him out on loan.

My only concern in keeping him is that he doesn't fit into our system with the way he plays. So Wilder either has to change his system to play to Marsh's strengths (aka good coaching), or Marsh has to change his game to fit into the system, taking away everything that makes him what he is (aka bad coaching). Sadly I can't see Wilder changing the system to suit players as he's too stubborn and shoe horns anyone into his formation and refuses to change it to suit what he has, hence that s**t show against Hull. Square pegs, round holes.

Started off nice and positive... 😄👍

I see Marsh as a natural back up for O'Hare. The problem is O'Hare is a machine who never seems to need subbing. I'm not even sure where O'Hare plays with the new signings, so maybe now is a good opportunity to send Marsh out on loan.
