this has always baffled me. I taught myself to use my wrong foot when I was about 10. It really isn't hard to get a bit better at it.
As kids in the 60's we would play spot for hours and to make it interesting we could only kick the ball with our weaker foot. Kids don't play street football today like we did, by the time we went to the big school we could kick a ball with both feet yeah we still had a stronger side but not limited to one foot to kick the other to stand on. Today kids football is organised into teams who play on a nice level bit of grass they never learn to do anything to strengthen weak areas of their game. A good example was Sander Berge who used to go to head the ball with his eyes closed 😂 little wonder he was hopeless at heading a ball.

What I find annoying is that highly paid professional footballers can't kick a ball with their non-favoured foot.
You say that but no one kicks off because Joe Root can only bat and bowl right handed or Matt Fitzpatrick can’t throw a couple of left handed shots into a round.

Most footballers have a dominant foot, it’s the same.

Heading will only get worse given it’s now banned in kids football until u13’s.

You're equating bat (or club) and ball sports with football! Absolute nonsense.

I wonder how many of these posters who were ‘two footed’ because they practiced a lot with both feet ever played football to a decent level?

It’s bollocks, I’d rather be brilliant with one foot than average with both.

My point was any ordinary person can with practice improve their overall game be it amateur or professional level it's called getting the basics right and dedication. If I was say Brooks for example every spare minute I had I'd be hammering a football against the gym wall with my weaker foot until I was comfortable using it rather than practising my back flip celebrations. Even someone as good as he is could be better with a bit of dedication and determination.

I bet he can play with his weaker foot to a much better level that lots of people can with their stronger foot. We’ve all seen him go down the byline and cross with his right, the difference being they tend to favour what they’re very good at and save the other option as a wild card. Look at JRS last season, McAtee before that. Then look at elite level players like Doku, Robben etc. they use their stronger foot 90% of the time and use the 10% for the surprise factor.

It’s incorrect to assume ‘kids nowadays’ aren’t taught to be both footed, they do a lot more technical and ball mastery work than I ever did as a kid, unless the coach is useless. The academy kids at United are coached to be two footed from the day they join the setup.

Just because they don’t do it with a medicine ball wearing hobnail boots under gas streetlamps doesn’t make it any less effective than ‘back in’t day’.
