Nige has always hidden behind current form but that option has gone based on the last 3 difficult teams we have faced (not). Today's Derby is going to be tough for us IMO and the off field antics are starting to take their toll in results. Time for the board to end the madness and move our FOOTBALL CLUB on.

For me I am hoping for a win but expecting a defeat by 2/3 goals. Same 4-6-0 lineup, Baxter up front and some good footy in our 2/3rds of the pitch. Same old stuff, no plan B but is it because his hands are tied due to current events or he's reluctant to change?

4-5-1. Lets heap pressure on the new boy from day 1.

It's time for Murphy, Flynn and Scougall to come to the party.

Baxter to recover his goalscoring touch maybe.

We'll score two. Hope it's enough.

2-0 defeat for me, the club has too many distractions at the moment. Plus we don't really do local derbies that well.

Murphys been at the party for ages. Baxter and Scougall I agree with

I know what you mean but I reckon Murphy is our key man and he has loads more to come.

Baxter is my favourite player but IMO he needs to have less self-belief and more grounded humility. When Baxter goes for goal he aims for just inside the post, he's that good. Often he hits the post though.

When many of our strikers over the years have a chance they are happy to just get it on the goals. Invariably they hit the keeper. Porter happy to just miss the target., have a good go, It's all in their make-up.

Baxter is better than that. Higdon also misses the keeper. Murphy can round a keeper. McNulty can wait for a keeper to commit first.

Keep the rest thanks. Don't know about Diego, not seen him enough but he has a pedigree.

Expecting a defeat by 2/3 goals!! Want a peer to peer bet? I'll give you good odds against a 2/3 goal defeat. How much?

Wwf I've learnt through the pocket not to bet on the team my emotions are dictated by. I tend to be pessimistic to avoid disappointment and it's worked for years!

Spot on Blade. I was only making a point. Big day for Clough today. Fingers crossed, we need a run of results, the natives are restless and may be revolting. Only 29 games left after today.

I wondered what the smell was :p - thought it was all the donkey droppings put together by the Stir in the guise of journalism. Guess I am wrong - I support Sheffield United therefore I must always be wrong according to those behind the Stir's (james) Shield wall.

Today is a massive test for the Blades - I am in the chastened pessimist hoping like mad I am wrong camp. UTB

Sorry but is that really a serious view ?

Probably will be a defeat for us today after this weeks nonsense.

I had a feeling you'd have something to say about that:DAnd quite rightly too, especially the often hits post quote. As you know i like Baxter but it isn't really the time to be waxing lyricals about him atm:)

Watch out League 1, the boys are coming to the party ! When these lads pick up the rhythm who needs a striker?

Strikers are often party poopers, too focused on themselves, always looking to pull the best chicks. When they are not there the whole gig goes better.

Its the beautiful game, played like Brazil, to the Samba beat. (70's version - no big striker).

Pick up the beat and lets rock.

Great post! With a couple of key signings - Right back in the Brayford mould and a striker in the CoG mould, it'll shift from being a sedate house party to an all night rave!

You could get roaring drunk on one of those babies. It was seven pints of foaming beer in a can or, with Shaw’s Lemonade, ten pints of shandy.
At 15 I could get roaring drunk on almost nothing. Unfortunately it might take a little longer than 7 pints these days.....
