Losing possession

Some good individual performances and moments today. As a team it was very disjointed and scrappy. Desperately missed Hamer that knits it all together. New faces and Souza coming back from injury probably didn't help either.

Yes, that Burnley. They've had 10 0-0s this season, we struggle to break down poor teams that sit behind the ball so I can't see us having any chance scoring away at Burnley. Therefore they'll only need 1 goal to win.
They only needed 1 goal to win those 10 0-0s as well.

I know it's frustrating and I don't know why we are like this. I just can't see it changing until next season and if we go up.

Turning the ball over so frequently can only be down to the players. Perhaps we need a massive change in player personnel if we go up unless we don't mind yoyoing for a couple of seasons.
The new owners have made it clear. Their intention is to make the club a well established Premier league club, not one that visits the top flight on a temporary basis.

The yo-yo policy only lasts so long. You either become established up there or you will end up being an established Championship club, see WBA and Norwich.

As we stand at present the thought of the Premier league next season is frightening but I think we should just focus on getting promotion and then think about the consequences of the Premier league once we have achieved that goal.

(Looking at other posts on here - we are putting a lot of pressure on Gus to wave some kind of magic wand next weekend.)

Well they have had 10 0-0 according to you so that says they do.
I'm saying WE struggle to break down poor teams, so IF Burnley score and put men behind the ball we'll have no chance at scoring.

Wilder making excuses for our lack of quick movement of the ball - we are so focused on possession with no real attempt to move the ball forward and in getting players into space to threaten the goal. It must be down to the tactics of the manager

(Toxicity rating detected) 😂😂, have you heard yourself.

He summed it up more than well enough. New players, changing systems and completely unorthodox… yet we grind out a win.

If you’re not happy get yourself off to Meadowhall, meanwhile the rest of us who actually appreciate how we are grinding away can support the boys.

What a numpty.

Next 2 or 3 games with Hamer back and the new signings in is the time to judge for me. Although we had bodies today we were still not a cohesive unit as some were playing out of position still.

The good thing is we’ve proven that you don’t have to be playing well to be in the top 2 of the league, hopefully at some point we ‘click’ but if we don’t we still might have a chance.
Hamer makes a massive difference, players like Brewster and Cannon, on what I've seen so far, have the odd moment but generally just don't seem to do anything. Much rather play with Moore who holds it up and brings others into play than either of them

Delighted with the win, but like against Watford away I'm frustrated with the last twenty minutes. We can't seem to keep possession of the ball. Yes, Derby created little but a better team would have punished us.
Choudhury looked solid today. UTB!
Fitness is a big issue. A lot of our players coming back from injuries start blowing after 70 minutes etc.

But now that we have our team back looking more positive. Well it removes the excuse anyway.

I'm saying WE struggle to break down poor teams, so IF Burnley score and put men behind the ball we'll have no chance at scoring.
As it stands, 0-0 suits us fine there. Burnley fans are understandably frustrated and bored with Parker. I'd sooner be in our position than theirs. We've done much more in January window than them for sure.
