Good Afternoon fellow Blades. I don't post on a regular basis, preferring to read an consider the various comment and opinions on the forum. Before anyone questions me, I am 55 and a lifelong Blade, for at least 30 of those years I have been a season ticket holder. Anyway to my point. I'm looking for, but unfortunately not finding, any leadership from anyone associated with my beloved Club.

Last season, you could hardly move for the number of Sheffield United Board and Management rushing to be interviewed on various TV, Radio and Social Media platforms, with comments on "how well things were going" and "Aren't we clever" Now, the silence from the Board and Management is so deafening, you could hear a gnat fart on Bramall Lane if you were stood on Shoreham Street.

In times like these, you are looking for real leaders to emerge... Where are they?... let me tell you.

Chris Wilder... Sulking in the corner... How are going to put things right Chris? where is your plan 'A', B' C' etc Leadership required !!!

The Prince... In a results business you do not tell the Manager his job is safe no matter what... Totally Nieve

The Current CEO... Who is he? and where is his short term and multi year plans??? Leadership Required!!!

Our Loyal Supporters... I know this is hard, but you cannot drive a club forward by looking in the rear view mirror... :Last season was special, but it was LAST SEASON.. If change is required to drive future success then demand it.. We deserve it!!!

In summary... I'm looking for a leader to emerge and take this situation by the scruff of the neck and sort it out... If that's Chris Wilder, GREAT!!!... if not replace him

Agree Worcblade, except getting rid of a manager is the easy bit. Replacing with somebody better is not! I cannot see a Ferguson or Mourinho giving interviews saying how good things were last season without some rallying cry to start sorting the mess now. The signings in the close season were for the future (based on age alone- can't vouch for ability or potential) but I have to assume that somebody selected these individuals & if Mr Wilder thought they weren't ready or not good enough he would have made his feelings known. I tend to agree that tactics & team selection / set up are not the problem & frankly something in the "Warnock" style is required i.e. feed them red meat and send them out to get stuck in! I'm not suggesting that Warnock returns, God forbid, but Mr Wilder needs to kick a few ar**s as well as taking the pressure off the younger members of the squad.

As for leadership, agree. I'd also add that we desperately lack leaders on the pitch. They regularly moan at each other but without the crowds you can hear that there's not much talking going on during games. Quiet from the back forward.

Whilst I agree in part with what’s being said I disagree with other. Wilder is still doing the amount of interviews he did last hear albeit defensively.

After last nights farce on social media I don’t want to hear a peep out of ownership or affiliated friends and former employees unless it comes through official channels.

Ultimately criticism (not abuse) comes with the rank and clapping back at fans or trying to control the message on Twitter isn’t professional and is quite worrying.

thats what concerns me as well dont buy this no news is good news theory as for leaders on the pitch might be worth putting billy back in the team if only for that purpose

Billy isn't really a vocal captain, unfortunately. More a leader by example but on the occasions he has been on the pitch this season he's been more focused on himself, for obvious reasons.

im amazed that wilder story went as far as it did. i was send this by few of my friends & couldn't believe that they fell for it. so i dont believe wilder has gone. but as i said at the end of game. i wouldnt be shocked at any outcome if he resigned was sacked or thought stuff it im staying

but purely on the pitch. I think it is lack of confidence. its the work rate not being as high as it was 2019/20. but also I think fans are a big thing. it might be the big unsaid over the wilder reign. that in early rounds of cups we have always struggled unsurprisingly in front of few thousand people like Barnet, Hull, Flyde, Blackburn, Sunderland. then return to form in the league in front of full house. somehow the players cant recreate the same intensity that other teams can with no fans

I read this point posted by someone yesterday but the silence at the moment, with all this CW's left, walked, out of the door, shopping in Aldi, on his bike, etc., is seriously DEAFENING!!!

Mousset gets pissed and wrecks his Lambo, Wilder’s gone. For now both just rumors.

When will the club realise, a good player gives 10-15 years to his career, a good manager about the same, a proper Blade gives 60 years plus.

Its our club, not theirs, release a statement for fuck sake.

I tried to make this point yesterday, but not as eloquently as the OP, I’m more frustrated now with the lack of information than I’ve ever been.

Next survey the club releases will be getting a ‘very dissatisfied’ in the fan engagement section.

Hi Snowflake and thanks for your comments and a valid point raised, which I will endeavour to answer... here are my thoughts on the immediate things that should be done.

1. The club needs to communicate a clear narrative... Is Chris Wilder still committed to the club, from a management point of view? if not move on
2. What are the key weaknesses that will be addressed over the next 12 months
3. The coaching set up needs a restructure, with specialist coaches, especially in the final third
4. The captains position needs to be redefined, if required bring in a new one that will be vocal on and off the pitch and unify the players... Vinny Jones was a very limited footballer but was a great leader
5. Develop more flexibility in the playing systems. This should take account of the strengths of the first team squad. Don't just try and shoehorn them into a rigid system... Take a lesson from Sean Dyche in this area

After watching Spurs v Brentford I have 3 proposals!

Instil some fight into the team, get on loan someone with a fighting spirit [is Vinnie Jones still around?]- watching Harry Kane come to the Spurs box in the 80th minute to win the ball back, when they were 2-0 up showed what we lack from midfield & attack.

Offer whoever is in charge of recruitment at Brentford a fat pay rise to come to BDBL. Their recruitment is fantastic, off the top of my head I can think of Maupay, Watkins, Konsa, O'Connell, Egan & Benrhama, who have left Brentford & are in the PL. They have replaced them with others, who on Tuesday's showing are part of a v good team.
Compare this with our recruitment.

Be thankful we are not playing Brentford in the FA cup, otherwise it would be more misery.
