Looking at the squad for next season

I'd expect to see Anel, Souza, Hamer to go, bringing in about what 30m-40m?

If we're balancing the books similar to last summer we'd be looking and frees, loans and a few small fees. Dunne, JJ Kenny, Darling, Dolan could be good frees for this level. If we haven't pissed off Holding I reckon we could get him for a nominal fee. That's defence sorted. Saw someone post that we have a 5m option on Choudhury, if so that would be good business to try and replace Souza. Then loans to fill the attacking positions.
There are some really good Championship free players. Dunne and Darling solve two problem already Dolan would be a good addition. Sas would JJ Kenny.

Likes of Ris, Gunn, Woodman, Lesson, Swift, Bundu also maybe squad options.

Annoying thing about Robinson is that he has played enough games to trigger an extension to his contract giving him another year. Another year where Chris can play him week in week out again whilst he is patently not good enough to do that. He should only ever have been a fill in player at best this season for the odd game where injuries and suspensions cropped up. Wilder was even allowed to bring in Holding as a better player and then decided to hardly use him and have him on the bench instead. Maybe if we had played Holding or another option at centre half since January we might just have been tighter at the back, stopped shipping silly goals, and JLT might not have met the required performance figure to trigger his extension. All feckin ludicrous. So annoying.

If we're living within our means we have to factor in those players in the squad we have under contract who aren't good/reliable enough:

A Davies
T Davies
McCallum
Shackleton
RND

That's a 1/5 of our squad space right there.

McCallum is the only one we might be able to sell very cheaply.

That'd be the Hamer that passed through 3 players to set up the opener and went off because of injury?

If that's 'not turning up' I don't know what turning up is?
And that perfectly weighted cross in the 1st minute onto Moore’s head. Hamer played well, he was a huge loss when he went off!

Tom Davies would be the best midfielder we have if only he could stay fit. I’m hoping he’s over his injuries now… much like Brewster seemingly has finally overcome his physical problems.

There's no evidence to support that hope. I suspect the same will happen next season.

Moore’s on a 3 year deal so he’s going nowhere.

If we sell Hamer we need to replace a lot of assists and goals, that won’t be cheap.

Brewster and Robbo are bobbar but both will get new deals.

The loan players have been a waste this season so don’t bother with them.

Get a decent CB, get Davies, Shackleton, Brewster and other squad fillers gone, replace them with starters.

Lose Cooper and we’re fucked.
I've rated Choudhury actually. He's the only loan, apart from Souttar, who has actually been worth it.

In fact you could say he's the only January signing who's actually contributed anything - everyone else was either injured, not played or shit.

Brewster got over his injury issues when most would’ve suspected that he wouldn’t. We’ll have to wait and see on Davies, the medical team will have a better idea and can hopefully get him right.

We can sell Peck for me. I get that he’s young and has energy but he has very little quality on the ball and his decision making takes too long. One decent pass in the derby doesn’t make up for the rest

We need to try and build around Arblaster and Peck, and actually aim to be better than the opposition rather than grind them into the ground

Also try to keep Cooper and Oné, and aim for at least a front 2 of him and Campbell

Get rid of Souza, who is possibly the most over rated player we've ever had. He is championship level

Sell Fat Little Gus. We can be better without him. Money back would be great

Anel, take it or leave it. Whatever

We're in a good enough position to achieve a similar points tally next season but nothing will improve without a change of manager. He's had long enough now, and this is it, this is what he's produced. No excuses

Sell Hamer,he's at the top of his value now and clubs who have better off field processes will be confident that they can get him and keep him fit, plus he will benefit from having better players around him who can take, and are willing to take some of the extra weight of expectations off him.
Thing is,after the Cannon debacle, the money will probably get spaffed away on more losers and never will be's.

Poku, Dunne, Darling, JJ Kenny & Dolan on frees to get the ball rolling. Right hand side sorted then.

Just need to bring Souttar back (using the Anel funds), a LCB, a quality CM (aka 45 game Tom Davies) and an LW. Plus replace anyone who leaves.

Let’s see how much money these owners really do have.

Doesn't matter what they do or who they get, the loser mentality will never leave this shitty club. The hard luck, poor old us attitude basically stems from one thing originally, the fans.

They've revelled in their shit, downtrodden, poor old shitty Sheffield image for so long the club knows it doesn't have to do anything ambitious because our fans have no ambition for the club.

Good managers with good track records have tried, but isn't it funny how the only managers that can get limited results are fans, but see above for the problems with our fans.
the loser mentality = how many promotions since CWAK came to the club

Looking at the squad i think although recruitment was good and we gave it our all
One area where we were weak was goal contributions from our midfield [ my bet for Peck to score at wembly in the bin] hopefully blaster can chip in next year

biggest mistake wilder did was making robinson captain recruitment very much depends on who the manager is for next season its a gimme hamer will be sold and looking like everton but we shouldnt sell him for any less than 20m would love to keep cooper and it would be 10m minimum for him

Nlce to hear from all the Blades 'Supporters'

Thankyou CWAK for another memorable season

Unlike a lot on here I remember the mediocre forgettable seasons before they came
I agree, our fanbase is just as deranged as any other. This season has been very good. A young squad has performed well and I’ve have been delighted to finish 3rd at the start of the season. If we replace whoever leaves well and improve in 1 or 2 other area we’ll be in a fantastic position.

3rd in the championship is an incredible feat.

You’re right. There’s gold in them their hills!

It’s easy to forget but we effectively had to reach the final and 92 points without our best centre half for half a season and what looked like our best central midfielder who was also showing himself to be a goalscorer.

We need to be decisive. You can’t expect the likes of Boro and Birmingham to sit back and govern us a free run.

Perhaps there are some higher upgrades to be had and loans we’ll know nothing of until late August but for now a reasonable outcome would be:

———————Cooper———————
—————(Davies/Faxon)—————
Dunne—Souttar—Darling—Burrows
(Seriki)—(Kenny)—(Robinson)—(McCallum)
Dolan—- Arblaster——Peck— O’Hare
(Brooks) (Choudhury) (Davies) (Poku)
—————Moore——Campbell————
—————Oné———Cannon—————-

I’d be taking the cash from Anel and seeing if Souttar could be prized away from Leicester. Dunne and Robbo back up centre backs. Darling on a free.

Still leaves room for probably another forward, Caceres or Nwachukwu to emerge as a further wide option and perhaps one more striker.

Deffo cash in on Hamer…. Need more than 60 mins from him & his discipline is shocking. If we can get £20 million we should sell.
