Look to the Kids

Sadly I feel those four won't do anything since they haven't already. If they haven't or aren't at least making the bench at third division level then the writing is on the wall. They all need to go out on loan ASAP to teams in the division below to see if they have what it takes - no use sending them to conference level if they're to have a future with us.
Khan's just gone out on loan to Barrow. Just short term I think so he needs to take this opportunity to show what he can do. If ever there was a time first team places are up for grabs, it's now.

I said on a post a couple of weeks ago that once you get into November it gets a bit easier to loan players out, as squads start to be affected by injuries and suspensions so I'd like to see Dimaio either given a game in the upcoming cup matches and/or loaned out short term at no lower than L2 level.
I think De Girolamo is injured at the moment but surely this is a make or break season for him.
I don't know what the deal is with McFadz. Someone at the club seems to rate him and he's had a call up to the Scottish u21s but he doesn't look anywhere near our first team.

That sounds a great idea for their playing futures. Say we are playing the kids and getting hammered as usual. The first thing that will happen is what happens now.
Abbuse from the crowd, like such and such your wank. Such and such your not fit to wear the shirt. Such and such why don't you just fuck off etc etc. A seasoned pro it doesn't really affect them that much, water of a ducks back, especially when they are as shit as our bunch they are definitely used to the abuse. Now what happens to the kids when they get that shit. I am sure that would give their careers the lift they need to bring them through properly, maybe it would give em a good nights sleep also, not!!!. If they are not good enough yet It would destroy them and their career. At u21 level they don't have loads of fans telling them they are utter shite if they have a bad game or two, for now it is just a pat on the back from the coach saying unlucky lad maybe better next time. In front of 20k fans and having a shitter would be a lot different and could destroy any career they maybe thought they were going to have.

Only issue I would have with turning to the kids is you can only introduce a couple at a time. We are currently toying with mcgahey, Reed and Adams. We need proven quality, experience as well as youth. The time to bring kids in is when we are stable not falling like a turd down the shitter

It's a good point.

I did say " seen him one and he looked rubbish", not "he's rubbish". :)

UTB

Fair enough pal. I didn't see that Preston game. Saw him v Rotherham and I think I've seen him one other time but can't really remember. Maybe a cup game. I thought he looked OK but not like a player that's gonna come in and dramatically change our fortunes.

i was watching spurs last night. most of their players seemed to be around 20??

He's doing a good job Pochettino. Has the youngest side in the PL I think...hasn't lost a game since the opening day.

The young uns they have are good, strong, big lads. Pretty much the opposite to the ones we have!

But they haven't just thrown the kids in regardless of what kids are at their disposal. They've plucked talent from those lower down the pyramid including

Walker
Ali
Trippier
Lamela
Njie
Dier
Mason
Chadli
Eriksson

Trippier has just played a season in the PL, Lamela came from Roma, Dier from Sporting, Mason was through the youth team, been out on loan at Swindon, Chadli from Twente and Eriksen from Ajax.

Didn't mean specifically the bottom of the pyramid but smaller clubs or clubs from poorer leagues generally. 2 from Holland, 1 from Portugal, 1 in the championship. Only Lamela was from a comparable club really in terms of the power and pull they have. My point was they plucked players on an upward trajectory like we did with Adams/Wallace etc. They're not all home grown and have been scouted and identified as good enough to play at that level. Something I'd like to see us do more of. That's a million miles away from throwing kids in that are further down the pecking order than the kids we've already thrown in with varying success.

No, I got your point, I wasn't contradicting you.
But as Mike Bassett said 'if you're old enough, you're good enough'.

But I'm afraid they could. Has it really come to this? Chucking the kids into the hurly-burly of Division Three could finish some of them off. The utter desperation of a 'Hitler Youth v The Red Army' tactic illustrates the rank bad management this club has had for several years.

Oh my goodness they really couldn't. Half of our senior players are total rubbish. Many of our youngsters, inexperienced and unprepared as they might be at least have demonstrated talent.

I would rather we start giving them experience. The senior side won't get us up this year, absolutely no chance so why bother continuing with them. May as well prep for next season.

But I thought we had great support and we can't blame the fans?

Yeah rite, you have players stood 5 foot away and playing crap, the abuse they get to their faces and within their earshot is shocking at the moment.
I can't see the kids listening to that shit and it not affecting their game or lifting them to produce the goods. They would say sod as would I.
Yes I know your comment was tongue in cheek, but we all know it would happen...........

Onwards and Upwards

You may be right. What an enticing thought with over six months of the season left...:(

Maybe there's a middle ground.....it would however depend on proper funds being made available to the manager.

Perhaps sign 3 quality players to strengthen the spine of the team and introduce a couple of our best young players to freshen things up.

Either approach couldn't possibly make things worse, this team is moving one way at the moment and it ain't up.
