Any suggestion that we are the new Stoke should be challenged by looking at the others in the PL who are playing route one. We’ve talked about how it’s ok for Liverpool and Citeh to “hit teams on the break with superb laser like passes”. However, Everton and Leicester last night hardly bothered with playing anything in midfield. Pickford was crashing balls the length of the pitch and pretty much everything was going box to box via long balls. I wonder if this is a result of the sterile atmosphere teams are playing in. No crowd seems to encourage the lower tempo and a resultant congestion in midfield as matches are played out like training sessions.Games are pretty boring and some managers appear to have come to the conclusion that playing over the top is one way of counteracting this. If you’ve got £500m worth of players on your side, you might be able to pass it through but even they are struggling to replicate pre-lockdown style. For us, the high press and wide channels aren’t as effective because there simply isn’t the space to expose. Just a thought.

It’s a tactic to use , to get a result
Against a team well known for frailty at the back , (Arsenal ) why wouldn’t you use it I've seen it used against us at times this season .
It’s not our go to Tactic , but a plan B
and if teams try to overload and nullify our high press it’s something else for them to worry about
It’s not like when Sir Dave was in charge of us and it was his only tactic, which was affective for us back then .
I’ve no problem With it being used in games ( not every game mind )

Every game I've watched since resumption has been like watching paint dry.
Am stopping watching until real football resumes.
