With changes to the loan system teams can't loan players outside of the transfer window. However free agents can still be signed. So with Wilder left frustrated after last night are there any free agents out there that would be suitable for us?

Was he left frustrated? Haven't seen the interview with him yet, think it was put on social media last night.

I haven't seen it myself but he must've been left frustrated when he only signed 2 out of the 4 he said he wanted. The defender doesn't sound like it was his first choice and Donaldson certainly doesn't so I think frustrated is the right word. Still, he's got something to play with.

Can players who get paid up be signed?

Might be a few who get paid up between now and jan if they aren't playing?

If a free agent can hold a pen, write his name, and kick a ball, could they sign up!!??

The loan window needs reopening. Abolishing it serves no positive purpose whatsoever. It's particularly bad for players. It only ever needed tweaking, and that's what they should have done.

Exactly - clubs are obviously cautious about sending people out and being caught short. Means young players can't get out and play and eradicated by the fact there isn't even time after the window closes to sort deals once your squad is fully settled with perminant moves .

Players like Sinclair will be sat doing nowt for 4 months until jan at the earliest.

Even An extra week would have resolved some of these issues.

My understanding is yes they can.

As long as they were paid up before the window closed. If they are paid up today then they would have to wait until January. I assume its to stop clubs and players working the system.

i actually like it that the loan window also shuts. It stops someone like Harry at Birmingham pulling Jack Wilshire in on loan when he gets injuries to his already bloated squad in November

Although I do quite like the idea of say a further 48 hours after the window shuts to mop up any loans for players who dithered on deadline day and now find themselves not in 1st team squads

Err no. Not him.
