Brayford was on £10k/week (reportedly). Try getting a quality championship level fullback/wing back/centre back elsewhere for that kind of money.

I'd trust Wilder to find one but I was also considering we might also get a few hundred grand for him at least on top of his wages.

kudos to Clough and Burton for staying in there, but I think its shows the championship is not such a massive step up as some think . Theres some very ordinary sides in the championship and I fancy we can advantage of it .

Really hope Whiteman can make the breakthrough with us next season and I'd give him a great chance of doing so.

League Two's a very good level at which to be impressing to the extent he is.

We need to get him on a long term contract and factor him into any midfield recruitment for next season.

How's Brayford's fitness been? That's the big factor for me. He's a proven Championship player and in spite of how well we've done without him it's a little myopic to think he wouldn't be a great player in our squad next season if he's fit and his head's in the right place.

Good point and that's where I become apprehensive; the mental application he'll have after switching. From playing under Clough who he has a strong chemistry with to then earning a place in Wilder's team.

Due to Freeman's performances it's hard to say when/how JB would fit in
discounting for injury. But no doubt competition for places is healthy and would be interesting to see Freeman's response as he's hardly been tested for his place unlike others. Tough call!

Would recall Whiteman or extend loan if Mansfield get promoted. Please let's not sell him off on the cheap.

I don't think it's Clough as much as whether or not Brayford wants to be at United. He'll have had a season away at a higher level and may feel like it's time to move on. If he wants to stay, then a fit Brayford is a better player than Freeman. That's not discounting what a season Freeman's had, but one's proven himself in the Championship and one hasn't.

Mansfield - League two (have around 15 people commenting on Whiteman) .......... Burton - Championship (have about 5 people on the forum in total)

It frustrates me seeing such a small shit club like Burton in the Championship

Really?
I love it.
Thank god what league you're in or what position you are in it is decided by results not someone else's opinion on your size.

Bradford is playing in a back 3 ,not as a full back or wing back
Personally think his experience will be invaluable to us next season as we are going to have to concentrate much better for sustained periods than we have managed this season

brayford competing for the right side of a 3 , and cover at wingback for freeman (based on injury/form) would not be crazy business. Assuming Ebanks landell is going to back to his parent club we'd need a player in that role.

Whiteman I'd have back at the lane to see if he's progressed enough to fight for a place. He could be improving dramatically at his age and always looked good with the ball at his feet
