Still, good news about Slimane

Just cannot be the Slimane I saw I think theyll soon have an about turn very very average for me & allowed Peck & Arblaster to develop ⚔️… . Curtis .. can’t say I rate the kid tbh in what I’ve seen in comparison to our other youngsters developing ..but he’s still young ..but talk about Marmite views from Peterborough.. no middle ground

The Curtis reviews really do seem to be the most Jekyll and Hyde yet. Seen a few on twitter. One week he's great the next they think he's crap.

He's 18. He's freshly out of Irish football. It's not going to be overnight for him

Some fairly bizarre comments there. I love the foreign ones.

WT actual F with Slimane? Something clearly happened to him on the trip to Norfolk. He never even looked fit for us.

Glad that Slimane is doing well. There's clearly a player in there, which is why we signed him in the Prem, but it didn't work for him. Playing in his preferred position, in a formation that suits him, and getting a run of games - I'm not surprised he's doing alright in the Championship. Still think it was the right decision to let him leave, as there's no way I'd play him ahead of Souza, Arblaster or Peck in the middle and the position he tended to feature for us, on the left wing, is clearly not his strength.

Do we have a recall option on Slimane?

I'm not suggesting he'd start here, but it could be good to shithouse a potential promotion rival.

Also, I'm not sure why so many are wishing him well at Norwich, he went on strike to force a move. Wilder was visibly pissed off at him and we didn't get a great deal.

Looks like Norwich will be a genuine rival this year so a bit of a double edged sword. But he’s never going to play for wilder again, so if we can get decent cash for him in Jan to fund a quality striker loan then, on balance, probably better for us that he plays well.

Ideal situation is that this puts him in the shop window, we recall him in Jan and sell him to a European club for decent cash. If we don’t have recall then it’ll have to wait until next summer and we’ll just have to hope Norwich don’t get promoted at our expense.

He was clearly surplus to requirements here. Can't understand why Wilder was so upset about it. Him doing well is good news for all parties and hopefully there will be a reasonable fee for him in January or next summer.

I would be interested in reading what opposing fans think of the start our loan signings have made to the season. I doubt Chelsea fans will give a fuck about Gilchrist though, half of them will never have heard of him.

I don’t want to see Leicester fans calling for Souttar to be recalled .. Leicester have form for doing this in the past, in the Wilder promotion season they recalled Harvey Barnes from West Brom and torpedoed their season

According to Jimmy Ramble Souttar can only be recalled in January if he's played less than 50% of available games for us by then. Rak- Sakyi can be recalled by Palace or sent back by us for the first 7 days of January. Gilchrist, Chelsea alone have the decision to recall also within first 7 days

According to Jimmy Ramble…. I think I’d like another citation on that

Hope this is true. Souttar is the only one that’s irreplaceable at the moment. The others would be a loss but not catastrophic.

Can’t see any of them getting recalled if this is the case. Perhaps unless Palace are deep in relegation trouble by then.

Not too surprised by the Hackford report.
Only seen him on highlight clips and he looked lightweight then, as an academy player for us!

They have a £1.4m option to make the deal permanent, which suggests a recall option is unlikely.

Not to completely dismiss the fine work that Roygbiv does but just to provide some perspective on the "Tunisian tackler" that's tearing it up at Norwich - Slimane has made [double checks] 8 tackles so far in his Norwich career, winning 4. He's made a huge 2 blocks and 1 interception.

His progressive carry distance (so how far up the pitch he's dribbled the ball) is less than half of what he achieved in his two games with us earlier this season. He is averaging 2.5 progressive passes per 90 minutes, lower than he did for us in the Premier League last year.

🤷‍♂️

I think Norwich fans are just bloody weird, to be honest.

Norwich have always liked tidy, keep-the-ball-on-the-ground footballers (I'm shocked that Leon Britton never played there).

The fact that they think the two Grant H's (Holt and Hanley) are the hardest people in the world says it all.

I don't blame Slimane for doing what he did, you do what is right for you

He didn't go on strike, he clearly wasn't going to play a role here bar a squad player in Wilders eyes

Hopefully, there isn't a buy clause as he is 23 years old and if he carries on the way there fans have said he is a very valuable asset to us

Im sure if he was from Mosborough our fans and wilder would have a very different opinion of Slimane
