We have all had to endure watching below par, dire football this season. well now is your chance to to raise the standards on show at the lane and fulfil your dreams at the same time.

Football Aid is a fantastic charity that arranges games at over 50 professional clubs with a format of a home team playing an away team from the same club. It allows fans to bid for a position to play in. You then get the full experience of walking into the players entrance before walking into the dressing room and seeing your kit hanging on the peg.

Normally there are player legends involved and in the past Ted Hemsley, Tony Agana and Paul Beesley to name a few have taken part. You then get to experience playing on the hallowed desso (turf), which if you are used to the parks pitches of Sheffield is a revelation. You pass the ball and it goes where you want it to, revealing how truly dog turd most of our players are!

After a frenetic start when everyone goes on lung bursting runs due to a massive overdose on adrenalin the games normally settle down into quite good affairs.

If Carlsberg did charity, this would be it, I have taken part twice and it is a fantastic experience, once you have slotted one home from the edge of the area with your left peg, life is complete!

I have never managed to get to the forum football, but knowing there are lots of members on here who like a game, I have posted to encourage you to have a look and give it a go. You will have a great time and it would be good to meet some other posters at the same time.
