Does anyone know how we’ll be able to get live commentary for home games this season? Radio Sheffield broadcasts the away match commentaries for one Sheffield club on FM and usually the away commentary for another South Yorkshire club on Medium or Long wave & on DAB. What happens this year? I can’t see Radio Sheffield being able to favour us over the other clubs.

A friend who lives in the midlands listens to live United’s home commentaries via what he describes as the Sheffield United ‘Match Centre’ and pays £45 a year for that service. I can’t find anything about this service on the United website. Can anybody tell me more about the service and where I can sign up? Thanks

Considering we rarely play at 3pm on a Saturday, radio Sheffield will broadcast the majority.
TalkSPORT also do a fair few

If, like me, you enjoy erupting in incandescent and righteous fury every time a commentator refers to us as "Sheffield" . then TalkSport is THE place to follow the Blades as you will experience this dozens of times across the 90mins!

Our away matches will be broadcast on BBC Radio Sheffield, with the odd few home matches also, depending on other South Yorkshire clubs kick off times. Which annoys me as it's Radio SHEFFIELD not Radio South Yorkshire pretty stupid imo. Even more stupid when they put Chesterfield on when it's Derbyshire but I don't think they do now, now that they aren't in the pro leagues anymore.

But does anybody know about the ‘match centre’ that my friend used last season? He saiid the voices are Radio Sheffield personnel including Keith Edwards.

Radio Sheffield broadcast commentary for all our league games home and away last season so I assumed they would do the same again this season.

WaveyDavey - are you sure Radio S broadcasts our matches both home and away? When I’ve been at home games at the Lane and put on my radio it’s usually been commentary on Wendy’s away game with just updates every 10 or 15 minutes about United and the other local teams.
Or do Radio S broadcast all the commentaries over the web? I really don’t know as I’m usually at the matches. But not this year. 😟

This webpage says you can listen live on sufc.tv

But as others have said radio sheff will do almost all games this season due to our kick off times etc

They broadcast different games on different frequencies, AM, FM and DAB. I thought I’d heard them say they were covering all our games home and away, they’re definitely covering the Wolves game.

Not that I give a toss personally, I can’t listen to radio coverage, it drives me mad and we usually lose, It’s the LiveScore App and a lot of refreshing if I can’t attend. 😉

I like Radio S commentary. When you attend live matches you can see that a lot of attacks are likely to end up in a dead end with a misplaced pass or a sideways or backwards pass. On the radio however every attack sounds as though it might lead to a goal - sadly it doesn’t but a few seconds you think it just might.... Isn’t that what it’s about - anticipation and then joy for a few minutes and then of course the near terror as we try to hold on to the lead! 😳

Yeah I liked the radio for that reason every attack sounds like it could be a goal for us.

Father in law listens, All games where on last year on Radio Sheff, I would imagine if will be the same this season

I believe, now don’t quote me on this, that the BBC are contractually obliged to broadcast every Premier League game on the radio, whether that be on local radio or 5 live/sports extra.

Yep. I’m not a season ticket holder due to work and listened to home games as well as away games last season. From memory home games are usually on DAB.

This is the point, if it's a home game on a normal Saturday it will be on radio Sheffield but on DAB only, if it's an away game it will be on local radio......(usually)

Radio Sheff broadcast all our prem league games last season and will do this season as well, wether 3pm ko's or otherwise.....
Either on FM or AM, if you go on RS website on the day or the day before and look at their broadcast schedule it will tell who and which channel it's on either FM or DAB, of course because RS covered all our games home and away in the PL last season this caused our Neighbours to be massively upset...but ferk em...

I think they forget that it is a long time ago since they were really important in the football world unlike us premier clubs who draw interest from around the globe.

this was the original EFL service which I also subscribed to. It carried through from Championship to Prem but I don’t think it’s on offer this year as I’ve not had any news or renewal. I’m unable to get Radio Sheffield commentary, despite only living 5 minutes away from Castleton. Oddly enough I’ve been able get RS commentary in Bolton, Wigan and Oldham before now. Looks like I’m going to have to drive there to listen to away matches in future

FYI

Thank you for your email and continued support of Sheffield United.

Currently, we are in the process of migrating to a brand-new streaming platform, from which SUTV will provide fans with a wealth of match related (including live audio), behind the scenes and club-wide content available on both web and app.

During this transition period the iFollow (SheffieldUnited.tv) platform on the sufc.co.uk website is not available and if you have an iFollow (SheffieldUnited.tv) subscription it will not automatically renew due to the change of service.

All video content can still be accessed via our YouTube and social media channels. Information in relation to the new SUTV subscription packages will be available shortly and will be communicated once finalised.

I'm with you on this one, Gray.
I usually follow Foxy's live Twitter feed while I get on with something else.

I think you can find what you are looking for here

Unfortunately, I can’t get Radio Sheffield via a radio in Jersey although I used to be able to get it on MW in Lichfield. Although I really don’t like having to pay for audio commentary (some clubs were Free last year in the PL) I do think Radio Sheffield have excellent commentators so I have subscribed to the internet via iFollow or whatever previous incarnations for many years. I prefer to listen to it still when watching the match on TV so I was tempted to sign up to this new Sheffield United Live for the Wolves game. However it does not say who is doing the commentaries. If anyone signed up and listened, I’d be grateful to know if it is still done by Radio Sheffield. Thanks.
