We’ve sacrificed creativity for solidity and the midfield is still woeful it needs fixing in January but it won’t be

Pleased with the clean sheet. The fact that Coventry were so ordinary shows just how weak the Championship is this season.

He is trying to have a hybrid of how he would like us to play but doesn't have the players for but keep our defensive shape.

SJ is aiming for the the defending of old formation and the attacking formation of his.

Lost some faith in the manager to-day. Been supportive so far as we've played front foot football but he now seems to have caved into the we must play 3-5-2 campaign. Result defensively better but turgid Wilderball creating the sum total of fook all. The players are the problem not the system. 3-5-1-1 doesn't work when you have no pace in the team. Coventry are an average hardworking team and we didn't lay a glove on them all match. Not enjoyable having to watch the system that has failed for the last 18 months.

Slow in thought, slow feet, slow in passing, slow in getting the ball into the box, slow at throw ins, slow at changing the shape and substitutions to-day. May as well have had Heckingbottom in charge to-day as the the dull insipid football was characteristic of his short tenure.

Not sure where SJ goes from here. He had a style of play 4-2-3-1 and he has now abandoned it for a safety first approach that won't yield goals. Pretty depressing all round.

It's not a manager we need, it's a professional turd polisher.

There's very little you can get out of this lot as they show no sign of change or improvement.

McGoldrick is a prime example. He makes us look better but for someone who is known as being bad at finishing you'd think he'd practice and somehow improve.

In a half he had the whole goal to aim at on his right, in acres of space and couldn't hit any of it. Then on his left had time to steady himself and couldn't even trouble Moore. Then to complete the perfect shit-trick, Moore telegraphs a reaction save and McGoldrick has all the predatory instinct of a sloth to miss getting his head to the ball by about 2 seconds.

Fans have been crying out for 5 at the back, then when he does it he gets stick also! If Davies is fit 5 at the back works better until we can get wingers in. We're unlikely to go up this season, we'll release a few of the deadwood in the summer and hopefully go again. Until then it'll improve past January but not enough to make the top six. It is what it is.

Dull and uninspiring. Not what I expected when Slav got the job. Yes, give him time, but I expected some flair and creativity. We have none. This team needs a rocket up the arse. They're not showing any desire.
We have no pacy, tricky players, the whole team is stale, needs ripping up.
Players quite happy to go through the motions.

It's entirely as I expected. Just like last season. If no one makes an individual error, then fairly solid at the back but not a lot going forward. We only started creating chances when they tired. Before then we had virtually nothing going forward.

There's a big difference between 3 and 5 at the back.

Big improvement second half.
Unlucky not to score today.
Wes and the defence looked solid.
Clean sheet.
Most on here are being unrealistic.
Decent point against a side near the top of the table.
Totally agree

Can't agree B4. We reverted to a formation to-day that has failed for the last 18 months. We may not concede as many but we create nothing. Not scoring goals will take us down as last season proved. We are only 5 points away from the drop.

We may be in the relegation spots by January if we keep playing the Wilder way. What is alarming is that the manager is not sticking to a way of playing that has brought him success in the past. The changes to-day needed to be in the middle of the park not at the back. We lost a man in midfield and until Robins made changes to try and win the game they were never troubled.

When a team is losing games (and we have been) the first thing that needs to happen is to shore up the defence and stop the rot. Slav did that today against a team going well in the league.

Our next 2 games are against teams like us struggling for any kind of form and should give us chance to build on our rare clean sheet.

Yes that is what we ended up with today but that is the worst thing he could do - trying to mix and match.

We'll sleep walk to a relegation battle next season if this carries on in the manner it is.

The slippery slope is waiting for us unless support is given to replace quite a few players who played today.

UTB

PS: this is not for you but the fella that sits behind me who insisted 30 minutes into the 1st half that Bash was playing centre midfield and we weren't playing 3 at the back - quite astonishing what some people see in a game.

whats been mind numblingly baffling is our inability to show any drive in any first half for quite some time
only v peterborough have we shown any gumption till theyve had a half time cup of tea

surely we should try a pre match cup of tea and see if that works

clutching at straws ,,,,, too right

Can't see me going out next Sunday waiting around for buses to watch a repeat of that shite I'll find a dodgy stream and have a few drinks in comfort and warmth at home.

We play so slow that every team has a chance to regroup , organise and have a quick fag while we take a throw in or free kick.

The only bit I found entertaining was the flare set off in the away end. It was more gender reveal than pyro

What actually happened is the Blades had most of the best chances in the match without conceding a meaningful opportunity to the opposition.
Console yourself with that.
We were disjointed and lacking in effort and quality. In the second half when they made their substitutions we then came into the game but again were lacking in quality and playing too predictable. Going wide and trying to cross when everyone was back.
Coventry out worked us in the first have but they lack real cutting edge. We are not cohesive enough and some players are past their sell by date. We are where we are because as a team we are poor and its going to take some time before we can be challengers.

No consolation here, and by the way wouldn't disagree with a word of that. The fact is that we did create the better chances and at the same time not concede any good chances (the dive was their best). Why? The structure was sound. It was the lazy cretins in our team (particularly first half) that made it competitive.

Stop talking sense.
We need Warnock, Adams "he'll gets us fired up" back. Gerr it forward blades.
Doesn't matter where you are on the pitch just gerr it forward.

Most of the problems stem from a lack of movement by players who don’t have the ball.
Time after time at throw ins no one was moving and most of the time there was no movement by anyone when we had the ball at the back and could have played it forwards. What is so difficult about moving away from your marker and making yourself available ?
