I'm proud to say I've been a Blade since the 50's and have seen it all eaten it all and supped it all. We've had some shocking teams and some shocking displays, and the last couple of weeks are up there with the worst. I am an optimist by nature, I suppose it's just the way I am. I have no doubt given time Speed will turn things around, and maybe just maybe we will reach the promised land.
This forum is a great forum and I spend a lot more time reading than posting, but I do have a concern. The posters from the so called "Sunshine Band" are becoming today's whipping boys. I know one could argue they deserve it. But it is a forum and they are entitled to their opinion. Half the fun of this forum is seeing the debate between the half full and half empty brigades. Let's not drive the like of Lenners, Ollie, Mic, Kenilworth, Big Mart and many others away. They make valuable contributions to this forum. If they want to talk shite, then it's their shite and we should at least value the fact that they are prepared to shit at all. :)
I know a lot of what is posted is tongue in cheek, and no one falls out or refuses to read another posters thread forever, but let us not start a witch hunt against the knockers. It's certain that one day they will be right. Just remember it's only a game, at the end of the day, just like tiddly winks or cribbage. :)

ITs nothing to do with a witch hunt - its about opinions
Our Clapping friends are totally miffed that their beloved Blackwell has gone and the likes of Quinn, Monty Kozluk and the crew are likely to be found out!
I am, and I am sure my 'Sunshine' mates are all behind Speedo, but, it doesn't stop us being disappointed by Sundays performance.
I thought that it showed how much Speedo and Calver has got to do to make the Blades a slick cohesive unit, capable of competing for promotion!
No I haven't had second thoughts about Speedo, but if the team were playing for their places on Sunday then at least half the team will not survive!
It is only a matter of time - as the famous saying goes 'You can kid some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time' think on you MIDFIELD MAESTROS - your days are numbered!!!
 
Surely its about time we had a pissing competition about who was more right than everyone else. We haven't had one for all of fifteen minutes.

Oh and BOSS, were you there for the witch trials?

Crikey - first time I have been branded with the Knockers -
I always thought I was always pretty neutral before - e.g. defending Monty (whilst still not expecting him to be a World beater) because he is not as bad as most seem to believe.

Issue at the moment is that I am completely disatisfied with the players performances as a team as a whole. I don't think it is acceptable and I see no real signs of improvement. Hopefully Speedo can rectify this situation but it is still a real downer when you look forward to it all week and they let you down again. It's not the defeat it's the manner of it that wrankles the most.

Football in general is in decline and the gross indecency of players wages and the Premier League greed relative to what the public gets back from them is abhorent. Probably also a hangover from the crap World Cup performance form the National team as well (the only time when these grossly pampered super stars are representing the rest of us).

I am giving Speed all the time he needs, I believe he will be a very good manager.
He is a top bloke and has all the attributes required to be a success.
It's just the immense job on his hands that worries me.
 
Big Mart was not driven away. He couldn't debate whilst still observing the rules of the forum, so he got banned.

I'm not sure that anyone is miffed that Blackwell has gone. But now that he is, I'm expecting Quinn to step up his game or get shipped out. As for Monty (probably the same with Kozzy), we all know his limitations and his capabilities so i'm not sure how he will be found out. One thing I would like to be clear about is that if Speed has a certain system that he wants to play, that all the players that he has are able to fit to that system and if players aren't able to play the system then either the players change OR the system, we can't keep shoehorning players into a system where they get exposed.

As for being diappointed on Sunday, its fair to say that we all were, but its the manner in which some have returned to the negativity. Sure there are issues and changes won't come immediately, but the way that some have expected miracles (from the QPR performance) or just wanted to continue to beat the Anti-Blackwell drum seemed a little over the top.

The team were obviously low in confidence following QPR and even with Speeds swift appointment its been difficult to raise themselves again. I imagine the pride of the likes of Morgs and the others that played under NW and alongside Paddy will have taken a knock.

That said I expected a better performance, but we didn't get it... so we move on, address the problems and see what we can do in the next few weeks.
 



A clapper for ever I'll be, cause I'm a fan who doesn't get kicks from putting folk down. None of us is perfect, so pointing out faults is as easy as predicting we wont win the league - most teams wont. Wanted to like Blackwell cause I enjoyed Warnock, but he was a different guy and despite the good qualities which got him the results we wanted for a while he just didn't connect with the fans. Most of us in the same situation would have done worse. Finding fault is easy, that's why it's so popular, we can all show off how right we were. So support my team I will, look for the good stuff I will, and hope for better outcomes. But I feel the disappointment, get frustrated when players seem to do daft things, or Jags get played at fullback to help his England bid but we get relegated, we hit the post and it rolls out, or Morgs one mistake kills off the game when a draw would have been seen as an OK transition. Life is full of disappointments and a few good moments, so half full is where I will stay. UTB!
 
The reason I get disappointed Swiss is that most on here are sane rational people with a common goal of seeing the Blades succesful!
Why do they make constant excuses for the likes of Kozluk, Quinn, Monty and to a lesser extent Taylor
Speedo is no mug and rookie manager or not if he is relying on that quartet to get him results then he is not the man i thought he was!
No Swiss, not gone back as you say to the 'Dark Side' just totally disappointed by the apparant lack of ambition on Sunday against a team equally as poor as the Blades.
I would have expected them to run their balls off for the new manager instead a repeat of 'same owd, same owd'
Again the rallying cry 'Come on Speedo' get rid of the passengers and lets go forward!

Don't worry Mick, they won't be driving me away. The 'sunshine band' is here to stay (see our official statement) as there is always something to moan about.

IN GENERAL, IT'S FUNNY HOW WE MOVE THE DECK CHAIRS AROUND AND SUDDENLY THERE IS A WITCH HUNT AGAINST 'THE KNOCKERS'. EVERY ONE HAS FORGOT ABOUT OUR SHIT TEAM AND THIN SQUAD NOW BLACKWELL HAS GONE AND SUDDENBYL EVERYONE WANTS TO MAKE FUN OF THE 'SUNSHINE BAND'. ANYONE WHO MAKES ANY CRITICISM OF THE CLUB IS SUDDENLY A 'KNOCKER, MOANER, MISERABLE FOOKER OR SUNSHINE BAND MEMBER'. THEY ARE THEN ATTEMPTED TO BE SHOT DOWN. It wasn't a repeat of same owd same owd. The players were very definitely not launching aimless balls forward, and instead were looking for a man. The fact is the movement off the ball wasn't good enough in the final third so often a man couldn't be found. Speed's no mug, he will have seen that and he and carver will be working on it this week, i've no doubt about that.

The fact is that 'The Clappers' realise this, and know that in the space of a week we aren't going to change much, so don't feel the need to rant about it.
 
I only had time to catch the last 15 minutes and I was very pleasently surprised with the passing and the threading of balls through for some one on the left (Wardy, Quinny?) to create opportunities. It was an internet stream so I couldn't make out which players especially as Monty and Britton looked alike...
I was pleased with what I saw.

aha, but the 'knockers' have re-grouped and re-named themselves. It's now the so called 'sunshine band'. Maybe the 'clappers' could think of a new name too? How about the 'proles', 'lemmings' or 'moonlight band'?
 
Ladies and gentlemen of the board, can you please be aware that due to the fact we have only achieved one point from three games that the world as we know it is now about to end.

Front row seats are currently available on the Sunshine bus with an iimpeccable view due to worryingly clean windows.

For the low price of losing your rationality and in some cases your command of the English language you can join them just days before doomsday...

Seriously though, things aren't great but why does it have to brought up ten times a day and the same posters making the same boring point over and over again? Lighten up, it could be a lot worse. Look at Pinky and Porky across the city.

Don't read the posts then our kid. It's a forum and people are free to post what they want when they (within the rules). Others may like the words or wisom spoken by members of the sunshine band, more than say posts that say nothing and padantically point out spelling and grammer mistakes.

And the sunshine band is quite an exclusive club. They don't just let any rabble in. You have to be a reight miserable fooker, never be happy and be prepared to criticise SUFC for everything :D

And you're correct, the Sunshine club is exclusive.

I would think of something more amusing to add to that but you pretty much shoot yourself in the foot but don't realise. It's a beautiful thing to watch.
