Let's face the sad truth of it.

Fair enough... Don't know why you are moaning about this one then, I find it quite easy not to post on threads I'm not interested in.

It was a general point your thread being the one I posted on because the title sort of fitted in with my moan. Not a specific dig at you and didn't mean to irk you but I can see why it might have. Apologies for that.

If you want something different I will give you something. Ive been to a party this afternoon in Lincolnshire with some very interesting and influential people there ,anyway got talking to one person who really will be in the know who once he knew I was a Blade told us McCabe offered the job to Phil Parkinson last summer ,Parkinson agreed and was ready to sign the contract which had also been agreed. This is why his odds came down so far and so much money was lumped on him. The only person who had to sign the contract was the Prince who vetoed it straight away and his staff approached Adkins,as the Prince is the owner of the club he has the final say on everything ,he and McCabe do not communicate hardly and disagree on almost everything. McCabe had to make a grovelling apology to Parkinson and Bradford and tell them the situation. The Prince has very little input financially or supportively into Utd yet McCabe who really does care (not my words) is ineffective due to the situation. McCabes and Utds biggest mistake was ever taking on the Prince according to this guy and we will not progress until one goes but if its McCabe he really does fear for us. Ironically he says Parkinson was also offered the job verbally until McCabe gave it to Danny Wilson at the last minute.

He also told me a story which just shows what the top level of football is all about. When Man Utd sold Tom Cleverley to Aston Villa for 7 million it should have invoked a clause which should have seen Bradford get £250 k from the sale. However the clubs decided to loan Cleverley on a gentlemans agreement until his contract ran out and the 250k would be split between Villa and Man Utd. If I didn't despise those 2 bastard clubs enough I do now ,anyone see Van gaals interview after the Everton game ? Scum manager scum club.
This guy was one of the most interesting people I have met and yet have never heard of him before ,googled him just to check him out and he is 100% legit.

£15 million.
Says who ? Where is it. ? Don't remember us signing Jordan Rhodes. Cloughs cup runs and the sales of Murphy and Maguire and others plus tv money and sponsorship easily cover our outlay and expenses for the past 2 years.

Says the accounts. What do you mean where is it? It's gone in to fees, wages and the day to day running of the club. And that is just the Prince alone. The latter part of that post - well, it's wrong. :)

I taught you well young Skywalker !

Admittedly only recently have I looked into the specifics but even before I don't ever remember claiming cup runs and player sales have "easily covered" total outlay for the past two years. I would like to know who it was we sold for about £8m though.

Interesting if true. Only thing is it was posted on here and other forums last summer that Parkinson was The Princes choice after their victory over Chelsea in the cup and it was the McCabe team who wanted Adkins.

"Cloughs" cup runs......?

........okay then.....

......I think I see what this is about.... Moving on...

Well unless Mick Rooker is on 8 million a year it doesn't add up ,15 million my arse. Murphy and Maguire fees ,2 big cup runs ,sponsorship ,tv fees ,other player transfers ,20k fans every other week ,income from Bramall Lane ,income from the academy ? it simply doesn't add up.

The shareholding and cash input is all fully documented. The bloke giving you the info is wrong, just as he's wrong to say the Prince owns the club.,

The Villa/Man Utd thing sounds unlikely to me as well. Cleverly signed on a free for Everton. Why would MU split the saving with Villa?

A 50% ownership cannot be practical, stands to sense. I imagined that McCabe would leave the running of the club to the prince's men and that gradually the prince would buy out KM's shares over a period with fresh money.

During the managerial recruitment I got the distinct impression that Phipps was leading it I must say. Parkinsom did appear to be a serious contender at the time and this Forum was distinctly underwhelmed. However, Bradford have punched above their weight since Parkinson has been there and have every chance in the play-offs this season.

It's not fair to compare Parkinson at Bradford and Adkins with us as yet. I just wished I could get more encouragement that Adkins has a plan and that it includes playing players in their favoured positions.

I've no doubt McCabe cares but he's failed to spend wisely his own money and any transfer fees and cup monies received, indeed the Tevez compensation too.

I could believe that the prince regrets ever getting involved and may well think he was unaware just how low we had sunk and how hostile our fans can be when things don't go well. The prince cannot possibly have empathy for the string of disappointments we have had since that Wigan game.

Thanks for the perspectives Sitwell, some of it rings true I'm afraid.

Parkinson has had 5 seasons at Bradford and still not got them promoted. Our man Adkins has had 1 season .

When Parkinson was in the so called running for the lane job , he got lamblasted on here as a long ball merchant .

The win at Chelsea did raise his profile , and whether or not we would be better with Parkinson to Adkins , who knows.

I still cannot work out if it is bullshit or brains with Adkins , but next season will not be good if we do not hit the ground running .

The first fundamental mistake may be signing Hammond , but we will wait and see. The bottom line is we all think hove our station , and truth be known we are now a established league 1 club , the same as Bradford , but maybe not as well managed or run.

Thanks Woodwardfan ,only passing on a conversation I had with someone well connected ,unfortunately some just want to cause arguments and decry anything you post ,makes you wonder why you fucking bother.

He has got them promoted from League 2. He also took them to a cup final, from the 4th tier, in the same season.

He did those things on a basic salary of 40 grand, plus a bonus for league position. A lot cheaper than our managers.

No chance of Baptiste. I think we will sign Edgar but he's only looked okay since Baptiste has been marshalling him.

I'd love to get Baptiste, but I'm just not seeing it.If Boro Don't keep him, he'll have the pick of Championship sides. And with our luck, you just know he'll sign for the Massive.

Even if say it was possible, wages I'd think would be an issue. Another issue would be fitness, if he's a bit fragile it's a lot of money to pay to someone who might not be fit.

Parkinson took over at BC when they had spent FOUR years in the bottom division.
TWO years on he got them promoted, three years on he has Bradford in the play-offs (shall I throw a Cup Final appearance in here just to piss off the "cup runs don't count" morons).
All this while the club has struggled along within the shadow of going bust.

Perhaps giving a manger a bit of time actually works but we're not likely to find that out here!

I have no idea about Parkinson so I've not commented on him.

This well connected bloke has told you a load of bollocks, for example, Cleverly didn't join Villa so there was no fee, let alone seven million.

Pointing out facts isn't wanting to argue btw. It's pointing out facts, all of them in the public domain with thirty seconds research.
