Tbh, Greasy, I'm not interested in looking at things from Evans's point of view. I'm not interested in him, or his case, or his circumstances, or his mental capacity, or anything else about him.
Like the many others who've said the same thing: I support Sheffield United, not Ched Evans.
The angle I'm coming at it from is: what effect would having him back here have on Sheffield United? And it's all negative, as far as I can see. More unwelcome intense media spotlight. More "he'll shag/fuck who he wants chanting" (and worse). More signs of us dwelling in the past rather than looking to the future. The risks involved in elevating a player who hasn't played football for 4 years (& counting) into some sort of "saviour" status. Questions about whose decision it'd be (chairman or manager) & about the manager's freedom to manage the side on his own terms without unnecessary interference. Concentration on some sort of personality cult built around Ched Evans to get us out of this Third Division mess, as opposed to building a team to do it. A renewal of the endless debates about what constitues rape. Etc, etc.
Suffice to say that, unlike you, I don't want him back here. Let's look forwards, not backwards.
