Lets change the name of this forum to panick like fuck after one game

I'll not speak for anyone else, but I'm not panicking after one game. I'm panicking after seeing a team coming off the back of a horrendous season, with a totally unbalanced squad, being poorly prepared and trying to play in a style they're totally unequipped for.

I've been concerned since the 1-0 defeat to Villa.

In his interview after SJs appointment, Bettis implied we would be continuing with the 5-3-2; which doesn't seem to be happening. Either we revert back to that system or make quite drastic changes to the squad - if not, I can't help but continue to panic.

He’s had to pick his team based almost entirely on training, where people like Mousset and Burke will look amazing when tackling isn’t at full strength etc. This is the first time Jokanovic has had a proper chance to learn the players, and we need to be patient and give him a few more chances to learn.

I remember the vitriol aimed at the so-called bedwetters last season after two or three games, along with the usual suspects predicting easy survival, "we'll finish top half, I'll stake my reputation on it", and the classic "we'll finish above Villa" (HA).

Meanwhile, it was obvious to see after three games which way the season was going.

We aren't there yet this year of course, but the club is on one heck of a slide, one that needs arresting sharpish before we can indulge in any fanciful notions of "storming the division" or whatever it is people are so convinced they'll do.

But he inherited a poor Lg 1 team, this is a near £100 million pound team who have been in the PL for the past 2 seasons! There is a difference wouldn't you agree?
Fucking spot on mate, one of the most expensive side's in the Championship, and on last night's showing a fucking waste of money.

If the same players couldn't play together and gel after over a year of playing the same system together ...what hope of them turning it around with a different system?
They are for the most part...shite.

We need a big clear out of the deadwood, but for now he is stuck with this lot, I struggle to see how he could have done any better with the dross we have.

No panic here. I kind of expected it. I'm worried by our lack of new faces and I may be more towards panic should we have not signed anyone by the 31st August.

I do wish people would stop using this lack of preseason bollocks as an excuse for a dismal performance.

We’re not gelling in several new players, this is a team (bar Berge) who played a significant number of prem games together last season.

If they don’t know how to play together by now, and extra preseason game against Norwich isn’t going to make the slightest bit of difference.

SJ will take time to put his mark on, but the display from last night was very much more of the same.

Needs to be given some time. New manager with an entirely different way of playing and he’s been hampered by a disrupted pre season. He’s still working out his best team and system. It will come.

Last night was far from the worst performance I’ve ever seen. We just lacked a bit of sharpness and they exposed a weakness on the cross. I’m not comfortable with Robinson on the left of a two and I’m not comfortable with Osborn as an out and out full back. Other than that last night didn’t overly concern me.

Anyone getting sweaty about that defeat needs to calm down. We have 45 games left to play and by the sound of it additions on the way. This is exactly why managers get paid to do these jobs, because they can see the bigger picture and don’t get into a flap like some of the supporters.

We’ll be reyt. UTB.

Anyone would think that Roy hadn't posted several comments from Fulham and Watford fans saying you needed to be patient at the beginning of the season with Slav, but it was worth it.

Not sure our fans are patient enough. Could very quickly go very wrong

Having moved ST seats I was keen to see if I had any “gerrtforardfuckssake” people around me. It took 5 mins to confirm that I have got 2 of them.

“Fucking faster” and “fucking forward” were also used a lot from 5 mins onwards last night.

There's no panic from me, just disappointment that we appear to have a new manager that hasn't looked at how we've played for the past 4 years and simply doesn't understand the squad he has got. He is asking players to play in a way that they don't appear to know or understand and some are completely incapable of playing that way. It's easy to see how the manager wants to play and some simply won't be able to do it. It seems like numerous player changes are needed in key positions to make this new way of playing work.

It needs to happen quickly and become effective or the fans are going to be brutal with the new manager.

This has got all the hallmarks of David Moyes following Sir Alex Ferguson.

UTB

PS: I do wish Jokanovic all the best by the way

I agree, we needed to play it sideways, play it back a little more and generally just take our time a little more, after all that's one reason we screwed up last season, way to quick forward decisive play is what cost us, maybe a few more triangles out wide would have worked wonders, food for thought.

Said no one ever .
