I know you'd think we were at crisis point at the moment reading some of the threads but I think it's time we took a step back.

Isn't it fantastic to see us dominating teams, keeping possession, passing, moving, finding a team mate 9 times out of 10. A manager who lives and breathes the club and says it how it is, players seemingly playing for the shirt.

OK, we need a few tweaks but isn't this what we've been after for years ?

Well said. Wilder is becoming a victim of his own standards though. The bar is now raised and people quickly forget what it was raised from. We were spoilt for 13 matches and now demand more of the same as does Wilder himself.

Like you say, a few tweaks and we will be fine. As things stand I still can't see too many teams beating us.

This is exactly how i've felt reading some of the threads over the last week or two

No crisis.

We have the best side in the division.

We got off to a poor start due to all the new boys needing to gel. Have gone from bottom to 3rd in a very short time.

We now have a great man at the wheel to deliver what is required.

Having no cup distractions, for once, will be a blessing.

Promotion is soon.

The problem is, we'll outplay pretty much every team we come up against, we'll demonstrate better quality on the ball, particularly in midfield and we'll knock it around better.

But the margins in this division are fine ones. The lack of resourcefulness in that final third is an issue that needs addressing. Our performance at Charlton was as good as I've seen all season, but that inability to put the game beyond doubt bit us on the arse. Shrewsbury was nervier than it needed to be and they scored with their only real attempt, Bury were ultra defensive, but having two men down should've counted for more. Walsall hit us with one of their only attacking forays, and could've scored another but for the crossbar.

Over the course of a season, these things can cost points. It's far from being a major crisis, but making the most of our chances is something that needs work.

we are still in the construction stage of this squad , CW made a good start in September but WILL be trading in the JTW
The money for Che should be in by then ,selling 2 or 3 more will help
If EEL isnt made available we will need another cb well before more striking options,
Scoring isnt a problem only we have
man city had enough chances to bury chelsea in the first hour , but paid for their 200 million pounds worth of strikers not finishing
how de bruyne hit the bar from 3 meters out is a mystery
we cant berate our ten bob forwards too much

This forum always lurches from doom and gloom to ultimate happiness, just remind the people who are now doom and gloom that a few weeks ago they were catching the rainbows that Wilder was firing out of his arse as he walked across a body of water.

It's a blip, hopefully we recover from it with 15 games unbeaten again then everybody is happy until next time, apart from splitting hairs on whether we should have scored 4 or 5 in the last game.

Either we go up this season or we don't. If we don't it's a pisser but in the grand scheme of things, it's pretty fucking trivial.

I don't think the reaction has been too bad. It has simply been acknowledged that we threw away points against Charlton and Walsall. I'm confident we will carry on winning far more than we lose. Also I didn't hear any boos at Ft v Walsall.

There were a few mooted ones in the main stand but I think that's par for the course after a loss at any club these days.

The post wasn't really aimed at moaners, most of the discussions have been constructive tbh, it was more an acknowledgment of what we're actually seeing at the moment and how this is pretty much what we've wanted for years in terms of what is being served up, the pride of the manager, players and basically getting the club back.

To me, it has a look and feel similar to Eddie Howe and Bournemouth and we've seen where that can go.

You keep making the mistake talking about transfers in having to wait until transfers out are paid for.

This just isn't how it works. We will be purchasing on the same terms that we sell. We don't have to wait until sales are paid up, as you continually suggest.

It's probably a point of pedantry now, but I do wish you'd occasionally read and digest some of the replies you receive. :)

I agree almost entirely.

But this isn't even a blip. One unexpected home defeat is all we're taking about, against a team we totally dominated and robbed us blind.

That some would be concerned about that performance is just a measure of how far we've come.

We as a club have probably avoided admin by being prudent .not being pedantic but thats not spending money we aint got. Others that have laid out on players too soon include coventry pompey luton etc

That's a completely different story.

If we used the money to avoid admin, then that's what the cash was for. You weren't making that point, and I didn't respond to that point.

You repeatedly state that we can't sign players because the money won't have come in yet. Stick to that point - and understand that it doesn't hold water. The payment terms are the same when we buy and sell, so they can both happen on the same day. There is no waiting required.

Now, making sales to clear debt is another point.
