Let the Moose Loose?

This is a slightly frustrating thread because everyone’s treating each other with disrespect despite the fact we are all blades and if we were in a pub together we’d be buying each other pints.

For what it’s worth, i would tweak the system on Sunday. I would play the usual back 5 with Norwood and fleck infront of them with mcgoldrick in the hole and Mousset and mcgoldrick up top. They deliberately set up to counter us earlier this season, so they will be fully aware of how we set up usually and as we haven’t set up like this all year, this will catch them off guard.

Personally I think we would have a much better chance of getting a result with 11 men on the pitch

Get the lad running all day everyday till he's fit enough for 90 minutes. Him and Mcburnie will be a brilliant.

Yeah, just keep him out of our own penalty area, an absolute liability.

Well well well...

If Billy is going to score another goal again this season surely its against the likes of Steve Cook and Bournemouth? He's already done it once.

Leave Moose for the bench, will be more dramatic for the lad if he comes on to make an impact against his former team.

Who would you drop from midfield to accommodate the change?

What has McBurnie done / not done in the last 5 or 6 matches to warrant dropping in favour of Sharp or Moose?

Good call, doesn't half put himself about McBoozy. That said either Sharp or Moose would be perfect deputies. Moose is more of a goal threat than McB., but you have to consider overall contribution to the team.

I have a perspective on this you won’t understand. That’s OK. All abart opinions.

Mine is this.

in the first half against Palace last week, there were 21 pro footballers on the pitch along with one lad who looked like he’d been drafted in from the local pub team off Concord Park. Sub that is. After a gallon the night before.

😀.

UTB
Never change. Please. We have too much fun laughing at you.

One of those rare occasions where I just can't understand what wilder was thinking today

Slowest back four in the world and we gave them a nice easy day

strange why he has been frozen out

Came on last week

Not been frozen out. Just not been picked today, we were having loads of possession, McG in theory comes on, turns his man and puts it on a plate for a tap in.

Didn't work but that's the theory, Moose works better against teams who are having the ball and committing men forward so he can run in behind.

I'd have gone Moose though tbf

Not usually one of those to question Wilder’s subs, but bringing in McGoldrick instead of Moose killed the momentum straight away.
Yeah I think cw got that one wrong, mousset was ready to come on then he changed his mind to mcgoldrick. Hindsight is great but surely if we're going for the win, you bring on your top scorer.

Slow but they play very deep which leaves little room for utilising Moose's speed.

He was actually due to come on for Billy but Wilder held the substitution and then changed his mind.

His fitness/injuries do not help but it must be frustrating for him.
