Siting down instead of standing , false shite music , orchestrated sing from the PA system ffs .

Crystal Palace recently split up the Ultras because they were causing too much noise and a general nuisance then they realise they had dropped a bollock when the atmosphere went flat , and they are now all seated together again creating the best atmosphere in any stadium or of any football fans .

Good on em.

‘‘Twas a tad cold. And while I was sensible enough to be fully Rabd up, many others where not and made more noise shivering than vocally :)

Atmospheres at modern day football grounds aren’t what they were 10 years ago.

Why is this surprising some of you all a sudden it’s been like it for years at most grounds?

You still get the odd loud game. Derby being a great case in point. We need something going against us to really get things going.

It’s shit mate. Fair enough. Just accept it. Also, whilst you’re there just pass me a dogshit sandwich pal, yep with mayo. My old man’s done 70 years. And my granddad beyond him. This stadium has never been noisy, never noted for the noise. History means fuck all. Be reyt. Let’s just sleep walk into Reading FC. That’s our level,

The atmosphere reflects what’s happening on the pitch. And Rotherham were time wasting at 1-0 down and hoping for a lucky break. And the longer it went on the more we feared they might just get one. It was a dull game, but we won. That’s all that matters.

Sorry mate. I should have felt encouraged by the “atmosphere”. Someone pass me a shit sandwich. I’ll eat it. I’ll eat that shit.

Just buy a pie if you want to eat shit

You want to stop having a drink after football mate.

It wasn’t second in the league for noise levels in the Prem season 06/07 behind Fratton Park.

I couldn’t be arsed standing up and singing if I’m being honest. The people around me would possibly find it unnerving.

I agree today was shit but the early kick off and expectation of a win meant it was always going to be.

Our away support is up there with the best in the division though. No one can disagree with that surely.

As Mark E Smith said
‘This is Craig’s tribute to Frank Zappa. Now we call laugh about this and his attempt to be Frank, therefore I entitled it ‘I’m Frank’

We should get a points deduction.

Oh, and it's about time the younger fans who carry the torch at home forward should realise they're fucking shit, they're fucking shit, they're fucking shit.

Remember the late 80s on the kop, usually a cracking atmosphere with just 12k attendance. That littlewoods cup game v newcastle around 1989, midweek, 17k for the first time in years, now that was an atmosphere. We had passion then, but we didnt have phones on us...

I'm Vanessa at the weekends :)

Singing stupid songs that make no sense, are giddy, childish and demented = Great atmosphere
Thank God most of our fans are too mature to join in

I don' know what happened to just roaring the team on when they go forward

There was nearer 30,000 there that night, 17,000 was one of the biggest attendance fiddles ever.

The home atmosphere is flat a lot of the time, Derby and Blackburn were good ones recently, with a sense of injustice. But the fact is most, if not all, clubs have this. Wednesday's was good Monday once they fancied themselves having half a chance, but completely flat for the first half and no better than ours for the derby. Fact is it affects all clubs nowadays, it's the family atmosphere they've all pushed for. The only good atmosphere I've seen on an away day that was good regardless of whatever was happening on the pitch was Leeds last season when we did them 2-1.

I think he’s right, though. I kept trying to start songs on the Kop, but instead of singing along with me to help get the chant going, the guy sat nearest to me just kept saying “I’m awfully sorry for our lack of atmosphere” to his Bolton fan mate and his Rotherham fan mate that he’d brought along with him....

Only pulling your chain. Maybe it’s time to start petitioning the club about considering the applying for the adoption of a safe-standing area. Just something small to start like at Shrewsbury.

The sing a long to moronic songs type of atmosphere is dated. The atmosphere is much quieter nowadays because most people feel embarrassed singing a load of bolox.
Football fans are a much more discernable, reserved and sensible compared to what they used to be

I have fond memories(maybe rose tinted) of the mid 80's singing fun songs like Molly Malone and One man went to mow on John Street for half the game often more so when we were losing!
Good times, but time moves on. These days it seems it takes big games to get all sides of the ground excited enough to get of their arses and join in. It does still happen from time to time though and when it does there's nothing quite like it.
If we get promotion this or next year and/or the kop gets its long overdue upgrade.
I'm hopeful we can get some unity on there, that would go a long way to making a loud, proud atmosphere projecting out to the rest of the ground.
Some sections at the back of our kop as it is now just feel lairy, negative and unwelcoming. Half of em seem more interested in each other than the game.

Newcastle didnt bring a lot from what i remember. 17k back then was unusual, getting over 12 for league games was an achievement.

More posts from Rodley claiming what a massive Blade he is? Never

I particularly enjoy it when we sing a song and the opposition fans sing exactly the same thing
