...we played our neighbours, Chesterfield, in League 1.

Three days shy of two years later we are (to all intents and purposes) in the Premier League while poor old Chezzie are out of the league altogether, and have just finished the season 15th in the National League.

85 league places. In TWO years. Christ, what a difference a couple of years makes. Madness. Bonky bloody madness.

And all on the budget we have, is nothing short of remarkable. Considering you have teams in this division with £15m players on the bench £11m players out on loan. What we have achieved is miraculous, but also no fluke.

It's the biggest and best up yours to the 'status quo' of the division, the moneybags who said we wouldn't compete.

They deserved a point at the very least, too.

And less than three years ago (May 8th 2016) we lost our last game of the season to Scunthorpe at home to finish eleventh in the third tier - our equal-worst league position in 33 years. No worries about pitch invasions or laps of honour when Adkins was 'in charge'. But good times were just around the corner. Four days later, Adkins was sacked and some unknown ragamuffin called Chris Wilder was appointed...

I think it’s a very interesting insight into the value of your manager being your MVP. MB at Leeds in fairness to him, has taken a lower mid-table squad and made them contenders. Wilder and Knill are adding 20% to an already good set of players. Conversely, I think Manc Utd will ultimately regret appointing Ole permanently, much as I like the guy.
