Leon the gent!

Give it a rest ffs. He hasn't played well for a while, but he's still chasing everything. But of course, our fans are only happy when they're sticking the knife into someone. It's a shame we can't just support the players.
Funny, I though he wasn't that good but a mate who watched it said Leon looks a beast !! Guess I just expect him to bag a goal every game after he had that run !!

I just feel he's lost that strength and hunger, might be nit picking I don't know.

In the 93rd minute we had a break, we had caught them on the offencive, a great through ball was placed into their central area, Clarke never made any attempt to run into the space to take advantage, he, in my eyes either couldn't be arsed, or hadn't the legs, either way, not good enough. If we are serious about taking this to the next level, sentiment regarding past exploits has no relevance.
In the 93rd minute, the mentality was to preserve what we had, previous experiences this season have seen us fuck up in last minutes. Maybe, just maybe Leon was focusing on staying behind the ball and preserving, along with his teammates, what we had.
Just another observation, untarnished by any sentimentality.

He looks ready for a rest for me. Our other two 30+ year olds clearly benefited from that as they were both outstanding yesterday.

No, I'm not that bloke, he sounds horrendous. I am in fact a 55 year long supporter who knows and recognises a player who is clearly not putting a shift in, Clarke yesterday was nothing more than a professional observer, not interested in making runs into spaces or pre-thinking of any creative attack. I agree, he has been brilliant in past games, but that is not what we are discussing is it? Yesterday he was shite, end of.
“Nothing more than a professional observer” - are you being serious? Yes, he missed a sitter and no, he didn’t score but to you can’t say he was nothing more than an observer. What a load of cobblers.

He, like Duffy, has a special place In Blades history and affection. If they never do anything for us again they are going to be welcome back here.

Wasn"t he felled for the penalty shout right at the end of the game? Was a pen too and yes he was still running too!

Clarke didn't have the best game yesterday but I wouldn't question his effort.

What I would say though is that he looked like Sharp did a few weeks ago - more interested in wrestling the Centre Halves than the ball on occasion.

Looked like Leon was getting manhandled more than usual Saturday, and the ref kept letting them get away with it, difficult to play against.. defenders nearly had his shirt off a couple times

I feel like you might be letting this cloud your judgement a bit. In the last few minutes, the entire team played like planks, really. Everyone seemed to be caught in two minds as to whether to go for it on the attack, or consolidate our position. Clarke was probably guilty of this too, which is why he didn't make that run into space, because I reckon he thought we should play it safe.

For the entire 90 or so minutes before that, he gave 100%.

Clark is shite, he's not running about and looks like he can't be arsed.

When was this?

93rd min fam, not good enough

Oh...o...k...

Did he run about... yes...

Did anything else go for him ... no

Did he look tired... yes

I think he is due a rest as the basics looked an ask of him during this particular 90 minutes.

Another dig at one of our players from a ‘Blade’. I don’t get people like you, I really don’t. The bloke runs his blood to water every week. Yes, he’s not scoring at the moment but the bloke has been excellent this season, so cut him some slack.

Are you the bloke on the Family Stand that called Holmes and Bash a ‘useless cunt’ towards the end when both players misplaced a pass?
In fairness, I thought Leon had a really poor game. He's not played well for the last few and on Saturday looked off the pace and on his heals quite a bit. Yes he chased things down but not with the intensity which he was doing it a few weeks back - maybe he's tired. Why, though, is it suddenly unacceptable someone to mention this with what is clearly an ironic comment? The players have set their standards and everyone is enjoying going to the Lane because of it, but if someone has an off day there is no reason why people shouldn't be allowed to air their thoughts surely?
