Heard somebody at the game today claiming the reason he's not clicked this season is because he's never been 100% fit. We were rushing him back from injury too quickly because he was the only option over 6ft... hopefully if this is true, now we have Hanson, we can let Clarke properly recover and then have a very good option coming off the bench for the final third of the season.

Be the same group of apologists that we're making similar "excuses" for Henderson, Higdon and Sammon.

As with these others, it's time, quite literally in relation to Leon, to move on.

My view on Billy Sharp is, with the exception of WWF, beyond compare. I have always and consistently thought of Sharp as an excellent Championship standard forward when the vast majority of others tediously referred to him as Billy Blunt ! Blackwell ruined him at the Lane. So your comparison falls on the deafest of deaf ears fella.

Sharp compared with Clarke, in any context is, bluntly, Hilarious.

in total minutes clarkes played less than the equivalent of 6 games

I doubt very much when we go up he will be retained , but hes an experienced league one goal scorer
and with our history of if it can go wrong it will , we need all the back up we can muster
if he comes on for 5 minutes in one game between now and May and salvages a point , it could make all the difference , hence I wont alienate him just in case hes needed

Once truly fit he may well have a part to play. He is without doubt class in this league. And I suspect Wilder believes that.

I don't think we've seen the best of him. But time and injuries aren't on his side. I still see him playing a part but I think he will be released in summer as we build again for a different challenge in the Championship.
