Leon Clarke

Leon is one of the leonine names that is extremely hot in Europe right now—it's Number 21 in Sweden, Number 25 in Norway, and Number 68 in Scotland. Although it peaked here in the 1920s, it is slowly making its way back, now at Number 276, and it could climb further with parents wanting a more serious and studious alternative to Leo.

Well it’s number 1 in Sheffield :)

That's the kind of stat we want! Fookin' wonderful stuff, a bit like Leon yesterday.

Heres an experienced championship player enjoying the longest consistant run in a team in his career , finally finally getting to show his worth.
Great footballers look better as they play reguarly, others drift in and out for several reason , small injuries , out of favour ,not given enough opportunity.
Heres a fine finisher getting the opportunity to show he really has the X factor, hes on the live shows getting the chance to shine in the overs category
hes current and relevant amd sure to get a contract

its a yes from lou lou

Leon is in the form of his life! If he'd only clicked earlier in his career he could have easily made it in the PL. That's life I guess but to our benefit.

Congratuations to him for making the step up this season.

After years of drifting in and out of various clubs,he's finally got a manager who's given him the confidence in himself ,a team that's playing fantastic football and creates the chances for him,and a crowd that adores you...
He's having the time of his life!!!

You know what I love about him too? He celebrates other players goals more than his own. That's a proper team player

He had a good old time on Saturday, though and no-one deserves it more. He’s had some hard times and he’s loving it with us. He smiled after the final whistle...

He smiled after the final whistle...

Wind?

Seriously though, I met some guys from Wolverhampton at an NFL game at Wembley and they said that Leon had had some very bad times with his Dad who had been killed recently.

They said that nobody was more deserving of a bit of success and security.

Let’s hope we can give you that Leon, because you’ve given us plenty already.

Magic

:)

Your so clever and I’m so stupid.

Nice one. Bravo.

Unusually, we will have to agree to disagree here mucker.

Said it before, our attack breaks down all too regularly when Leon is introduced in to the play phase. Almost always second to the ball (behind) when he should be getting in front of his marker, which is more than frustrating.

Surprising you don’t see this to be honest.

You have been silly for so long!

I think the clue is in the "4 goal" bit.

As for the nonsense about querying the first 52 minutes, you might as well point out that he didn't do much in between the goals either. What did the Romans ever do for us, eh?

You didn't like Clarke and obviously still don't. Why not just keep away from threads about him, rather than posting absolute nonsense.

After an admittedly poor start last season, Leon has just got better and better. Full marks to him for plugging away and he deserves all the accolades he is currently getting.
I'd have had a poor start to the season last year if my father had been murdered outside a pub recently too.

February 2017: "there is no getting away from the fact that signing Clarke, with the benefit of hindsight, was a big mistake ... Apart from emergency cover can anyone imagine the striker realistically establishing a first team place?

Ouch!

The comments are even more wrong than the piece itself. Not knocking anyone though because if someone said back then that they thought Clarke would be our first choice striker in the Championship they'd be laughed out of the room .
