From what I've seen I'd give Billy Sharp and McGoldrick a chance to reproduce what they did last season ..lets face it they've earned it ..and while it is hard to find fault with anything Chris Wilder has done .his record speaks for itself ..I think Billy has had a raw deal so far ..even his brief 20 minute appearance showed he has more nous and smarts than McBurnie will ever have

Disapppointed in his link and hold up play today. He won a lot of good defensive headers from corners which was his biggest contribution today. I think we bought him as a traditional number nine - it isn't his game based on his contribution so far.

Of course Leon isn't better than McBurnie. Nobody really thinks that. But there are concerns over whether he's miscast as a lone striker - which effectively he is because Robinson isn't really playing anywhere. I just don't think Robinson is a traditional striker, or fit (either injured or worried about re-injury).

Away at Swansea last year, first half McBurnie played front on his own and was anonymous. 2nd half they brought James on, McBurnie wasn't used as a battering ram and he got involved in the whole game. Linking, winning challenges, creating chances. He was excellent. His best performance for us (Leicester) came with Billy up top. Give him a proper partner and then judge him, I still think he'll come good.

Just last night I was chatting to a guy who works as a tactical analyst for a Championship team. He provided a lot of detail of how teams look at both their own players and the opposition. He really was someone who could see the bigger picture, unlike yourself who can’t seem to get past the basic twitter-esq assessment of “McBurnie’s shit”.

Forgetting the silliness of the original post for a moment, both Robinson and McBurnie seem to struggle with the basics of ball control. Billy Sharp might be a 34 yr old short arse but he excels at these basics.

I was shit in the air but my recollection is that it’s easier to just head it away and get some distance than it is to aim a header at a small area of goal where the keeper can’t get to.

It might be partly to do with that. And he’s up against much better defenders too, which I suppose takes some getting used to.

He needs to improve, that will be down to him to work hard under the coaching staff. As I don’t know him I’ve no idea if he’s got it in him so we’ll just have to see. He’s got a couple of months to show to Wilder he doesn’t need to go begging to PA for more money in the JTW.
