From reading the swansea forums their supporters seem to think that its a deal with a lot of add ons such as appearances, promotion, sell on percentages etc.

It's just come to me. He has an agent. We are powerless to prevent him moving for nothing as a result.

Those pesky agents!?
This could explain things. Perhaps Tricky Trev does have commercial skills after all. if the clubs are currently negotiating then they must be talking about something. It would make the deal much more palatable for me if we had a few things such as:
- 20% of all selling on fees
- 250k after 50 appearences, 500k after 100 appearences (etc)
- 20k per goal scored
- 250k if they get promoted
I am plucking numbers out of the air, but I am sure you can see my point.
I'm sure if United suggested £20,000,000 for every goal he scored, Swansea would agree such is the likelihood of him ever scoring a goal.
You realise he is now NAILED ON to score against us. I can also guarantee it will be with a header.
So we add Britton to the growing number of footballing midfielders who we thought might actually get us playing a bit of football and failed miserably before being quickly moved on.
Some we seem to destroy and some are simply not up to it. Apart from perhaps a brief period Brown and Mcall we never really replaced the hole left by Glenn Cockerill!
Given a choice of Williamson or Britton in our midfield I would rather have Williamson. The 2 of them together is too light weight and Williamson on the right is a waste.
I think Monty and Willo is a given for the rest of the season subject to any incoming shocks, and, hopefully, an injury free remainder of the season for Willo.
IF Reid comes in, he's better either on the left or behind the strikers IMO.
Yeates, Williamson, Montgomery, Reid?
Looks a pretty solid midfield to me that!

If we could get Britton off the wage bill and swapped with Reid I will be f888ing delighted. Best move of the season
We got him on a free. It didn't work out for us or for him. He's leaving on a free. Nothing to get worked up over.
Agreed Sheffielder, it would be a fantastic piece of business.
I would suggest the fact that nothing has been done for Reid highlights that it is far from a forgone conclusion.
No point getting your hopes on Reid. All it takes is for one Premiership club to offer him a contract and he's gone. Not to mention all the other Championship clubs who can pay more than us.
If nobody takes him, there is the chance of a loan. But surely that's about it.
All of which shows how hard squad building is.

Not being funny Bob, well maybe a little but I stopped listening to you on transfer rumours a long time ago![]()
That's because you take my speculation as ITK info when it is just my musings. Never claimed on a thread to be a ITKer.
I think the only one I talked about on openly on here was Dickinson which I said I heard it was a done deal. It wasn't.
Seth Bennett has just tweeted that he's gone. Undisclosed fee which he believes is dependent on appearances.
*Shrugs shoulders*
If a player doesn't want to play for us then he can go. Leon Britton is a good player but not good enough to warrant the wages we were allegedly paying. He also needed a dynamic, box to box midfielder next to him (Pratley) which he didn't have here.
Good luck Leon. The Blades will survive without you.

You've certainly given me the impression that you're ITK
You cant tell me he wasnt beter than Montgomery or Quinn?
