Apparantly, LB will complete his signing for Swansea in the next 48 hours according to RS.

Were any reasons given for this move in the report? We deserve to know why the feck he's off after just 5 months here.

Regardless of the Bosmans, fees involved etc., I'm not too bothered about this.

Even if he goes on to star for Swansea, it simply wasn't 'working' with us. Since his first game, I've always considered him a 'tidy' player - able to make the simple pass to a colleague either sideways or backwards, but never that 'killer' ball forward. Plus his physical size made him easy to overwhelm at this level.

Signings are never going to be an exact science and this was one which didn't work out. (Ask Villa in a couple of months...)

I'm just passing on a post from BM.

I didn't actually hear it first hand, but the poster didn't say anything other than the above.

FH might be intersting tonight, for all the wrong reasons of course.

Remind me again who holds the player's contract and registration?

So why on earth are we looking we're being held to ransom.

The key I suppose is does Micky want him, if not then get him out on loan until the end of the season, perhaps to Brum or Wigan, not Swansea, then flog him for a decent price in the summer or whenever we can get a fee.

Personally I'd like to see us keep him because he could become useful.

Homesick my arse. Little puff

If I offered to buy Stephen Quinn for £50, so that I could tie him up and keep him as my personal ginger gimp, the club would accept at the moment.

When was the last time our transfer dealings weren't a complete joke?

Spot on Swiss. Why not loan him out and then either: a) see if we can get a decent fee or b) see if he fits in a better passing side, with better creative players and less pressure of relegation and a battle/dogfight.

Homesick. The little wanker is from fucking London!!! He grew up in South London, played for Arsenal, went to Lillishall and signed for West Ham afterwards. He didn't move to Swansea until 2002. 8 bastard years out of 28 and it is his home. It's like moving to France and saying I am home sick for London. Little faggot. He'll get my size 11 shoe up his arse if I see him. I'd have him doing extra laps around the pitch, never mind being in contract discussions!!?

Thats the spirit Ollie! :)

So we add Britton to the growing number of footballing midfielders who we thought might actually get us playing a bit of football and failed miserably before being quickly moved on.

Some we seem to destroy and some are simply not up to it. Apart from perhaps a brief period Brown and Mcall we never really replaced the hole left by Glenn Cockerill!

I'll bite...how many times have we 'undersold' a player ? Can't remember a time recently where our transfer dealing were a complete joke. Whether we should have sold is one issue but other than that,I'm struggling to agree that our transfer dealings are a 'joke'.

With hindsight, the only player that may come close to this is Walker but at the time, the money for a full back with a handful of games to his name was excellant

Haha, brilliant!

Wellens always impresses me in centre mid, thought Britton was going to do well at BDTBL

They'd be absolutely right to accept that particular deal. No joke!

Clearly doesn't have the stomach for the scrap so can fuck off for all I care. Decent player but not the type of head we need at the mo

No-one from Swansea has ever developed home sickness. Fact!

It's a pretty shitty city...

Britton has been a major disappointment, so if he wants out then let's get Olle to use his Sideshow Bob sized feet to boot the whiny little toss on his way.

This whole thing is ridonkulous, we could afford his wages in the summer when we signed him, but can't now apparently, so what's changed??? They must have known then our finances for the coming year. We're filling our squad with players who don't belong to the club and getting rid of arguably our most talented player on a free....a f**king FREE!

And like others have said, i don't buy this home sickness shite, the club pays him nearly £1m a year to be 'home sick'. If he's that desperate he can move whatever or whoever he's missing up to sheffield FFS.

We could "afford" to spend £40M developing 2 stands so that we could host 3 WC matches. It doesn't mean sanity can't be forced on you and the decision be reversed.

Maybe he's missing snow white and his 6 pals?

Bird probably threatened to dump him as she still lives there. Job done by the looks of the bbc website. Lets move on and hope we use his wages wisely unless we have already with mr bent.

We are a selling club with fuck all ambition.FACT.

Which would be exactly why we signed him in the first place, paying more wages than Wigan and hefty bonuses I guess.

I would guess we took him because there was no fee involved hence the offer of higher wages.

I think we've found out that he's not all that good. He's certainly not the type of footballer Blackwell thought he'd signed, and I don't think he's Adams' type of player either. If that's right, then fair play to Adams for identifiying a neat, but rather ineffective player, who has already contributed to limiting further and much needed spending on the rest of the squad. If he'd been stuck on the bench for the next half year I don't think anyone would have taken his wages in the summer, which could have meant he'd turn into another Lee Hendrie, in terms of finances. If there aren't any other bidders I think we're doing the right thing in letting Swansea take him.

Still means paying a signing on fee and higher wages/bonuses though.

Foxy, if we get rid for a free, that is IMO opinion ridiculously bad negotiating by the blades board.

Seeing as Little Britton appears to be on his way back to Swansea, is there any reason why his transfer would be a free transfer?

It's just come to me. He has an agent. We are powerless to prevent him moving for nothing as a result.

Yeah, it's a bit like the government being powerless to stop the bank they own 83% of paying themselves bonuses, ooooo, a bit of politics, a bit of politics :)

Seems clear to me, get Britton out then we can afford Reid.
