Leon - a sign of things to come

There's some frankly disgraceful personal abuse aimed at me on this thread . What happened to the sites mantra of playing the post and not the poster ?

In my opinion Clarke has show this season EXACTLY why a player of his undoubted quality has never broken through at a higher level ....... he's not physically robust enough .

If you disagree , that's fine , I respect you and your opinion . But why adopt the mentality of a shoal of piranhas in feeding frenzy .

No one deserves to be exposed to this kind of horrific behaviour . No one should be likened to fresh food in the eyes of a man eating fish :(

There is no denying that Clarke has had a great end to the season and will always be remembered fondly for that.

The original post is valid in the fact that he got injured again yesterday, so there has to be worries about him being injury prone going forward especially at 32.

I just don't see him doing it next season, he's had chances in the Championship before and always ended back in League One. So for that reason I just don't see him finally cracking the Championship at the age of 32.

Have I missed the announcement that he's out until September? Did the diagnosis of a serious injury slip by me? Has the pic of him leaving the ground on crutches missed me?

Or is it more a case of feeling a bit tight or some soreness and physio saying, 'Last game, fuck it Leon just come off!' rather than the normal, 'give it 10, see how it feels'. In other words how does anyone know this wasn't something that ordinarily he would just run off? As mentioned elsewhere, he seems fine afterwards.

It was more than 'heartfelt' though, it was openly aggressive just hours after a fantastic celebration.

The time for discussing players to go is most certainly NOT in the hours and days following our first trophy since 1982.

To be honest, I haven't got a clue what you are talking about.

You said something pretty silly IMHO and several people have let you know, in the same robust manner of your opening post.

Think with footballers , as a fan , you have to go back to basics . The 2no players who IMO have always caused Blades problems are Clarke and Hanson . Both now play for us . Both are class and have differing attributes . If Wilder doesn't think they are good enough ( like any other player ) he will move them on .

At this moment in time , it's beyond me how we can moan about any of our players . They have all done us proud .

Is this right ? (Sorry--amid all the conflict on this thread, I'm not sure exactly what's being said ironically, and what isn't).

What a shame, if so. Leon has looked a completely different player to me, at the back end of this season, now he's properly fit, agile, and sharp. If he has a three monther to deal with, that will likely bollocks his pre-season all over again and, on this year's evidence, may severely curtail his effectiveness until well into next season. Booo. Not bloody fair.

As for this word, "piranhas", it's a "C-, must try harder !" from me. Come on, boys and girls, we all know the proper phrase ....

I think Kryten was having a laugh mate. He's out for the next three months like all the other players was the point, I think.

I'm surprised at coolhandluke. What he said was silly and inaccurate.

For the record injury prone and not good enough Leon has played 208 games in the Championship and scored 35 goals there. Not a great goals return but hardly a useless crock.

So should Billy have had two places in the side then? He;s been partnered by Done, Lavery, Chapman, Hanson and McNulty as well as Clarke.

I'm not Leon's biggest fan but it is a fact that he has made a significant contribution in the last few games. I'm not sure why you'd signal him out like that, unless it was a late night troll jamboree.

Repetition does not make it more valid. People said respect Clarke for his goal contribution, which is nothing to do with 'sentiment'.

Why not start some threads have a pop at Done / Hanson / Wilson (delete as appropriate).?
There are some saddos who resent him because he's ex Wednesday. Funny how Geary never got any grief but most others do.

Our lone goal threat since November and still is now.

You would have to assume that with the imminent arrival of the Welshman, and with other potential reinforcements (Gregory ???), Leon may find his starting opportunities limited.

OP harsh in the extreme, but without the vitriolic sentiment, a valid point does exist in there. Somewhere !!!

UTB
LOL.

Whats the point in fetching old threads up , are they trying to score points and cause upset or maybe they are from the Dark Side .

Anyone who has either read or posted on Bladesmad in the last few years will know that CHL is a wind up merchant. He only ever posts to get people to bite. It’s often funny but sometimes it’s too obvious. His recent posts on here seem to have got a big reaction, which is exactly what he wants.
