That problem is NOT the EFL. That problem is the insanely poor public transport service and infrastructure we are (apparently) prepared to accept. You and me "vote" for this shite year in year out.
If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it. It's not the voting that's the issue - no one purposefully votes for shite anything - it's the shrugging of shoulders, sitting back and just blindly accepting it that's the problem, as I think you may have alluded to.

I'm on a trip to The Ashes in that hotbed of activism, Australia.

Obviously, all travel is free on matchdays if you have a ticket for the cricket. In Perth, all travel is free on Sundays if you use an "Oyster Card" type thingy. Here in Brisbane, any single journey is capped at 50 cents/25 pence.

A journey from Varsity Lakes, on the Southern Gold Coast, to Gympie North, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. A journey of 261 km. Which takes just over three hours. Twenty Five Pence.

I mean. I'm alright Jack. I've got a South Yorkshire Senior Bus Pass. But when you see what is possible in other countries. It's an eye opener.

ps - I Vote. I will continue to Vote.

Doesn’t matter what you vote or what the transport situation is, if you drop your catches, you don’t win test matches. 🙈🙈. Poor Archer.

Just realised its a 5.30 ko and no public transport after 6pm. Thanks efl.
Its shocking that a New Years day game is on so late in the day. They should all be 3pm.

EFL should know this when they change the fixture times, but they don't care as they are controlled by huge TV contracts.

Transport for South Yorkshire comes under the Mayoral Combined Authority which are pursuing bus franchising similar to Manchester ( which took over 2 years ) which SY were only able to do since the the election of a Labour government, Manchester were allowed to implement a bus franchising policy as Manchester has a Metro mayor system. Hope you're enjoying the sun if not the cricket which we would be massively improved by Derbyshire cricketers in the England squad.;);)🤫

Nothing here has changed in practice except making the ticketing more complicated.

All public transport free in Belgrade even from airport which is over 45 mins from city centre for everyone regardless of local or international status.

I'm saying expect nothing to change. Except maybe a coat of paint here and there.
Similar to you but do I expect a change for the better with buses but by how much I'll wait and see as the main difference is the SY authority decide on the routes and who runs them and how often not the bus companies.

100% this.

I'm on a similar trip and in Brisbane ATM.

Buses, trains, boats, all so cheap, and all co ordinated. Step off a boat, and a bus comes along 2 minutes later (or is waiting for you). Dozens of buses outside the Gabba to pick people up as they leave.

It's Public transport porn tbh.

We are soooooo far behind.
